Unhappy Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread

Sprint TP2 here. I have keyboard issues straight out of the box. The major issue is that the "B" key right above the space bar clicks but does not register unless you squish down on it really hard. Also, every key clicks except for the space bar (which is strangely silent / soft). Perhaps that is normal but I must say that it makes typing trickier because I'm constantly second guessing myself when i don't hear the click of the space bar.

I will be calling for a phone swap shortly as none of my local stores have the TP2 in stock.

No, I always like getting the first dent or scratch in new cars out of the way too. Seriously. However, if there are real functional problems, then I'm a tiger at getting it fixed - replaced. I guess age, at least in my case, tells me everything ends up in the junkpile anyway. I've had about 50 new vehichles, mostly for my business, but many personal too, and realized long ago that chasing perfection in "stuff" was not only a losing battle, but a waste of mental energy and mental health. At least that's my experience.

I don't seem to have any ethstetic problems besides a minor wobble when the screen is tilted and it doesnt quite sit flat unless I adjust the screen perfectly when it's tilted.

Aside that I dislike how the photo thumbnails are messed up on the photo tab. Half of them are not the proper thumbnail for the photo. It's like it got corrupted over time.

My largest complaint by FAR is the increase in overall system lag by 10 fold when I'm on the subway to and from work. I know it's roaming and all but seriously does it have to make the whole phone operate in slow motion??
Maybe it is electromagnetic interference. Or did the other phones not do that?

A genuine functional defect, get it replaced. Hope mine doesn't do that.

I've already had enough of Bluetooth, and just use my speakerphone in the car to keep it out of sight of the "nanny state" Barney Fifes who want to tell us what to do with our hands. Hopefully, the TP2 speakerphone will be better than the Moguls, which isn't bad with the volume fix.

You need to have a java player installed on your device. I have it running now. Will post back results.

Update - Program did not fix it.

Re: Sprint Touch Pro 2 - Dead Pixels!

Dead or stuck pixels have been a problem on all types of screen for years. It seems that with every new device released there is someone telling you it is the achilles heel of this particular device. This is simply misleading. Like all information on forums like this you need to take the information given and put it into proper perspective, then make the choice that is right for you.

To put things in proper persective, at the time of this post there were 1138 views of this thread. There were exactly 7 people swapping or considering swapping their device for a new one. Far from alarming. Especially when you consider that each device has 384,000 pixels multiplied by the 1138 viewers of this thread equals 436,992,000 pixels, and we have a few stuck pixels.......hmmmmmmm.

Please don't think I'm saying you shouldn't return you phone if they bother you....not at all. Just that everyone considering this issue puts things in the right perspective when coming to an OVERALL decision about the TP2 or any device for that matter.

Dave

Re: Official Touch Pro 2 defects thread

For some reason I can't make the changes stick when I try to change the theme on my today screen. I want the black today theme but since I changed it to something else, I can't get it to change back.

Help
