Soft Reset Question
I just came from the 800w. To soft reset, you either needed the soft reset software, or pull the battery. With the 800w, when you held the "END" key, it just shut the antenna's off. The PDA functionality still worked.
When you performed a soft reset, it actually shut the entire phone down and re-booted. My question is, with the TP2, when you hold the power button down, it shuts completely off. When you press and hold it again, it re-boots as my old 800w did. Is this a "soft reset?" If so, why the reset button behind the battery door. If not, what's the difference? Thanks for splaining... cosmo |
Re: Soft Reset Question
Nope, If you take the back cover off you will see a little button. Push it in with your stylus to soft reset.
I use an app called pshutxp to soft reset my device. Too lazy to pull the back cover off... |
Re: Soft Reset Question
+1 on pshutxp.

Re: Soft Reset Question
Yeah, basically when you hold the power button down it will shut the phone down and pressing it again will turn it back on and that is the same as a soft reset. It would be easier and faster to just hit the little soft reset button but is under the battery cover which is a pain in the ***. So I just turn it off and back on again. Pshutxp is pretty good though, it allows you to soft reset when using the power button.

Re: Soft Reset Question
thanks. just wanted to make sure i was understanding it correctly. Would seem to me using the power button eliminates the need for additional software, unlike my 800w

Re: Soft Reset Question
Is the button under the cover located in a manner that would allow a little access hole to be drilled in the cover (or a replacement cover made by someone) to access the reset without removing the cover?
