My TP2 kept a 100% charge during 5 soft-resets.

WOW, if this isn't a record, I don't know what is.

I was messing around with the registry and disabling some services to gain memory/performance (although performance is phenomenal already) and after 5 soft resets, my phone STILL had a 100% charge (THIS IS WITH THE 1% INCREMENT BATTERY DRIVER) and only after the 6th soft-reset did it go down to 99%. I'm not sure if it's a glitch with the driver or if the phone is actually performing THIS well.

Could it be the updated processor from Qualcomm at work? more fine tuning by HTC to their software/Windows Mobile? the higher capacity battery? it may just be all of the above.

I am officially impressed.

I've never noticed that doing soft-resets uses an extra amount of power. Am I missing something?

you guys are ridiculous. if you soft reset your phones 5 times i bet it would drop to 90%. Of course that many soft resets drains the battery to some degree. Haven't you ever tried soft resetting your phone when the battery is really low? by the time it resets, it's ready to shut itself down as opposed to being able to squeeze out another half hour if you didn't soft reset.

it's always the people w/o the new phones to comment with sarcasm first. it's funny how people make it clear they're not getting the tp2, yet they're always the first to say something negative about it. The tp1 forum must be getting cold w/o all the company, huh?

the bigger picture here is that it would be nice to get an idea if the charge does hold up better. the op obviously has done this with his previous phone and noticed a difference. So why mock him with sarcasm?

I think he was liking it to the rebooting of a computer and the amount of processor use during loading of drivers, the length of time the screen stays lit during boot up and the logging in to the servers. Sounds like it would use more battery than just staying on. I know my TP1 drops to 92% within a minute or two of coming off a full charge. Still a good observation.

Yes, if I did that on my TP1, the battery would drop 10%. So thanks for sharing posters #1 & 5.

Actually if my phone did that I would think it is some kind of bug in the battery display driver to not show accurate battery life.

I dont think it is even possible to keep 100% after 5 resets. Reset will use siginificant amount of battery versus staying on.
