This is a program that HTC put out? I think I remember it. Does it do wifi hot spot? Or just usb teather?

theyre all the same, the one for 6.1 works on 6.5

Thanks for that! I'm not sure that was the one I was looking for, though... isn't there an HTC-originated one?

Anyway, I downloaded the Tom Codon cab that you linked (XDA-Tom_Codon...), installed it, and nothing showed up on the phone that I could see. However, I noticed that another cab appeared along with it (mobilewifirouter, 169k). I installed that and it said it was uninstalling the previous version of the Tom Codon cab, and I still don't see anything on the phone...

Did this not install correctly? Or am I not looking in the right place (programs, comm manager). Sorry I'm a little dense. I haven't done much updating of phones in a while...

Still no joy...

I spent some time trying it again, and did some searching in forums, and found that others have the same issue with this WiFi router - it seems to install ok but doesn't show up anywhere.

I wonder if there's a newer version of it? Otherwise, I'm looking at WMWiFirouter, which I don't mind payinf for, but I think I tried it before and couldn't get it to work properly.

So - any suggestions?

pretty sure it installs to settings>connections by default ... i moved mine long ago, so im not positive, just remember it puts it somewhere that seems odd... lol

I looked there, and everywhere else that made any sense. It doen't seem to create an icon so there's no way to start it up that I can see. It was really pretty slick under WM 6.1.

I've really looked for this, too - most of what I read is pre-6.5 -Are people not using WiFi capabilities under 6.5? I guess I'm going to try the demo of WMWiFirouter to see if it works. It's listed with 6.5 compatibility.

where are you installing it sd card or main mem? not saying thats the issue just a thought. it is showing up under you installed programs? try to use the search on your phone to see where its going to. Im running a NRG rom and its under START/TOOLS

I installed it in the main memory, and it did not show up under installed programs. Weird...
Going to try the trial version of wmwifirouter - the install went ok, and an icon shows up under applications. I ran it and my laptop picked it up and used it to connect to the internet, so I guess that's the direction I have to go.

I seem to have had the same problems as LDBECKER, does it have anything with not having a SIM card installed?
