AEbuttonplus on tp2???

I finally gave in and gave up my grandfathered plan from AT&T (before it was cingular). I wasn't really happy to switch to TMo but couldn't wait any longer to get the phone (actually bought two for me and hubby). So far, ♥♥♥ the phone :headbang:

question: Has anyone used AEbuttonplus or something similar to utilize the hardware keys. If so, which buttons were you able to map?

Theresa

I am experimenting with it and am not sure whether it has introduced some instability. When you go to the authors site it says the TP2 is not supported I havent been able to reprogram the return key on the face but have successfully done the volume keys into up down arrows.

Can AEButton be made to work with on-screen "buttons"?

You can use advanced config for the main screen softkey buttons though.

Yes it has:

Left Soft Key
Right Soft Key

in the list of programmable keys.

Discard AEButtons and go over to this post and get the keyboard remapper by Tarkim

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...88#post4469788

It can remap all of the hard keys including the main keboard. It is amazing!

Thanks for the heads up. Works well on t-mo's keyboard!

Damn, and I really liked AEB, it doesn't properly map the green/red buttons though. Ugh.

Oh well.

It works perfectly for those buttons too. FYI only, the link posted above takes you to page 4 of the thread for Tarkim's keyboard controller. Pick up the cab from the first post on that thread.

Thanks, might give it a shot. Just said what I did before because I actually bought AEB. :(

Gotcha. I actually looked into AEB when I first got my TP2 because I missed some of the dpad functionality, and definitely the CTL key (only real negative with the Telus TP2). I realized it wouldn't work so I was happy when the other fix came along recently....especially as it was a free option too  I wonder how much longer AEB will last now.

I'm a big fan of AEButton Plus, so I'm a little sad that I will have to give it up for TP2. Does this remapper map multiple key presses (same key double pressed, triple pressed, long press) like AEB does? Thx

Single, double, and long press. No triple though.
