Not sure you are still interested, but I found a solution that is somewhat acceptable:
Create a file with this in it: 21#:MSFEXPLORE \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games and name it Games.lnk or something Put that in \Windows\Start Menu\ and you should be able to put that on the TF3D start menu What this does is go through File Explorer straight to the Games folder Sometimes it wouldn't work for me strangely (as in nothing launches), but lately it hasn't failed Attached the exact .lnk that worked on my phone |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
well there is a way to do it somehow with the stock setup (no tweaks). The start menu has an office "folder" that when opened, opens a sub-menu just like you would want.

Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
I deleted my office folder from the tf3d program list and now I cant get it back :( Someone that still has it should check the registry
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/ And find the number that has office in it, copy those contents into the thread please. IT might help solve this games folder issue as well |

(I also deleted the Office folder shortcut when I first setup the phone.) i am glad i am not alone. i cannot find where HTC stores the shortcuts for the TF3D favorites screen. my research started with the \Windows folder and then a search through the registry for a program that was already on the favorites screen. No luck. :( Please keep us posted. |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
I'm tempted to hard reset to find out.
its gotta be in HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/ somewhere... Anybody with the office shortcut still in TF3d favorites screen please check it should be HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/4 or /5 if I remember right. |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
hard reset is a good idea, but i would hope your request to check the .../ProgramLauncher registry setting will prove fruitful.

Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
ok since I have 2 TP 2's I can do a comparison. Where do you guys want me to look (I have 1 still completely stock & one that is modded that cannot display folders) It will be the morning before I can get to is (work in 30 minutes...)

Under this registry location, there should be a link (key) to the Microsoft Office Shortcut folder. We need to know all the different keys/strings that are associated with this shortcut. We will then be able to replicate this with any folder on the device. I tried to add the shortcut to the \Windows\StartMenu folder, but the registry key I added (for #10) didn't work. :( Thanks! |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
My phone has the shortcut to Office Mobile in #11 of the ProgramLauncher folder of the registry. The path is \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Office. Hope that helps.

Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
Well I was planning on checking on it this morning, but apparently her TP 2 is broken.... It was still completely stock & was running painfully slow. Restarted the device & now it will not move past the Touch Pro 2 screen. I've tried multiple resets, removing the battery... Still no change. Looks like I will be sending 1 back... This sucks

Did you do a hard reset? With the power off, hold the red and green phone buttons while turning it on. |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
Thanks for the path! Can you provide the rest of the information keys for #11? Just entering the Windows path does not do the trick.
THANK YOU!! |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
If you need a quick solution you can do the same thing I did for the games folder lnk:
Create a file with this in it: 21#:MSFEXPLORE \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Office Mobile and name it Office Mobile.lnk or something Put that in \Windows\Start Menu\ But, I'm guessing you want to see that TF3D folder menu |

ok...
The link file (for example excel mobile.lnk) contain the following string: 21#:MSPXL The link file (for example word mobile.lnk) contain the following string: 21#:MSPWORD so you see where we are going here. The registry entry for #11 (Office Mobile) DispName: Office Mobile IconPath: IsReadOnly:0 Path:\Windows\Start Menu\Office Mobile I changed out the "0" folder (normally home) with the information that is normally in 11 & insured that the Office folder was in \Windows\Start Menu, performed a soft reset & I now have my office folder back After lunch I'm going to try and make other folders. I have added the office folder to this post for anyone that has lost it. |

Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
Hopefully this is a tip someone can use...
k...Here is how you create your own shortcut folders in Manila... Create a folder under windows/start menu/programs. Name it whatever you want. move program links from the programs folder into that folder using activesync Now go under HLKM\SOFTWARE\HTC\MANILA\PROGRAMLAUNCHER\ chose a program position (they are labeled by number) & open it. Modify the following values (I will use "Utilities" as my example): DispName: Utilities IconPath: this is up to you, I leave it blank, but you can link to an icon in the folder you create) IsReadOnly:0 Path:\Windows\Start Menu\Utilities Now you may be saying what? The paths do not match between where you placed the folder & the path in the registry... You are right; apparently it assumes the path is: \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Utilities. So you just need to put in \Windows\Start Menu\Utilities I hope this helps anyone looking to create folder links easily under manila |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
Can you make an ink folder for Office Mobile like you did for the Game Folder. I am seeing the individual Office files in the all programs menu but i cannot select the actual Office Mobile folder to add to the Start menu list like it was before i accidentally removed it.
Ok followed your instructions up above this post and that worked, only thing now is that i have duplicates of the excel, word apps in the all program menu. I know this is due to the folder already being in the windows/start menu folder. Thanks |
Re: Shortcut to Games folder on new start menu?
Delete the Office mobile(1)folder under the programs menu
