Screen Protector on the TP2

Does the Touch Pro 2 need a screen protector like the old Mogul/6800's did?

Re: Screen Protector on the TP2

I would always use a screen protector. It comes with one in the box.

Re: Screen Protector on the TP2

Considering that the leather case is not always included (TELUS doesn't include it from what I saw), a screen protector is a must !

If the protector included is crap, this one seems to be nice : http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/...ns-shields.php

Need is a strong word. The Mogul didn't NEED one, and in fact, I never put one on the Mogul I'm using now, for the last year, and I'm a contractor

No case is included... only a screen protector. I'm not too well versed in screen protectors (always had flip phones) but the included one seems alright to me... but it's only been a week.

With a flush screen I'd say it does need one, and as others mentioned it comes with one in the box. Fits perfect and no complaints here. I also picked up the leather Telus case though...much nicer than the two plastic ones they had that left one side fully exposed! Leather case is fairly slim and not at all cheap looking.

Can you post a pic of the telus leather case on?

Thanks

Re: Screen Protector on the TP2

It comes down to this. If you scratch your screen are you going to be bummed out? If you have a screen protector and you scratch it you can easily remove and replace the screen protector and have a "like new" screen again.

I use a full body Ghost Armor and love it. I throw my phone in my pocket with keys, change what ever and never have to worry about it. The only thing that has scratched my screen protector is my son's fingernails. I live in AZ and just took my phone to a Ghost Armor Kiosk at the local mall and they replaced everything for free ($5 install charge).

No, I'm not like that. :)

I am very surprise and disappointed that HTC would send this thing out without a screen protector or a case

NOT HTC the carrier.

My sprint TP came with both a screen protector and a case. I use neither but it did come with them.

It comes with a screen protector, just not a case. The screen protector is in the paper work under the cardboard.

No case, but it DOES include a screen protector.

No problem....

It uses a magnet and not a press stud to keep the flap closed. Seems to work just fine. Nice snug fit.

I have one of those too... it's OK... after a weeks worth of use it's finally starting to break in to the point there I can put in/pull out the phone with a single hand. There's also a clip option but retards that designed it made the screen face outwards. Had the clip been designed properly I would have picked that up instead.

Yeah, I was using one of those plastic clip ones for my Treo Pro, but that one was face in. That way I only scratched up the nice glossy backside of the device ](*,) Better than the alternative though!

Don't think this is going to fit some TP2's... like mine on Telus.

Why not ? The one on zagg.com it's a GSM version (because it has the hole for the front camera) but I'm pretty sure it should fit on the TELUS TP2. But It would have a little hole on the top-right corner for nothing.

Anyway, I ordered one (screen only). I'll tell you if it fits or not.;-)

Re: Screen Protector on the TP2

Get a screen protector....I made the mistake with my Diamond...

Used the one that came with it, and the unit was fine....so I figured that I didn't need it. 2 Days after removing the protector, the screen was scracthed in several places (hard to see, but I could really feel it).

Currently, I'm using the screen rotector that came with the unit, and I bought a plastic shell they sold at the Telus store (snaps to the face and keyboard of the unit $14). It does make the phone bigger, but protects all the edges of the phone + keeps the screen protector in place (edges don't pop up.

Just my 2 cents.

I worried to purchase the wrong item as I made the mistake when I got the extended battery for my Diamond. Will this protective applicator work with Telus' TP2?

Thanks,

I agree with many, a screen protector is a must. Otherwise you will have tons of dings and scratches on your screen from the stylus and finger nails for you girls out there.

Thanks,

I didn't watch the install video, but judging by the picture of the TP2, it is definitely not the same as the Telus model. For one, the speaker on the Telus is at the very top of the screen. The one in your link seems to be slightly lower. It also looks like the protector fits over the top of the hard buttons at the bottom. The hard buttons on the Telus TP2 also start right at the bottom of the screen.

The protector in that picture has pieces above the speaker and below the hard button cutouts. That won't work with the Telus model. Here's a side-by-side so you can see...

I really, really wish the Telus stores out west would get this stiff, damn it. I like that case and would be happy.

How much was the case?
