I may have a business phone, and I do run a store, but I only need it for that store, as well as some personal calls. The plan I switched over to, while it didn't give me a whole wack-load of anytime minutes, it also gives me a My5 program. On it I have my store (obviously), the RM, as well as some personal numbers. Along with that I also have evenings/weekends, which is when I do most of my "personal" calling. Also, if I'm at the store, I'm going to use the stores landline, not my cell.

I never understood how my RM's bills have always been so high, sometimes running between 3-400 dollars. If you look over these plans, wouldn't you be able to figure something out? Sure, there are those people that need over 1500 minutes a month, but some (see a lot) of providers have My5/10, which I can't even conceive needing to call any more than that amount of people on your cell phone (unless you're some kind of high-talent agent). Likewise, you can always add Unlimited Incoming to your phone.

Maybe I won't understand until I have the same needs as you, but until then I will just watch and stare as companies piddle their money into phones because the high-minute plans are convenient and hassle-free.

I pay 45.00 for my voice / month and I have:
450 anytime
evenings / weekends unlimited starting @ 5pm
MyFave 10 National
Unlimited text (free)
Incoming (free)
50 mins long distance (free)
VM/CID - Promo 5.00
15.00 Unlimited Data Plan

I don't think it's too bad for what I"m getting

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I control the cellular choice of a number of people. I signed up 3 of my shop phones for SERO1250 plan. It is 1250 anytime minutes, m2m, n&w at 7, unlimited internet and text. $50. Then they have $7 for insurance. I then have my shared plan paid for through work too. It is $130 for 1500 anytime minutes. Unlimited GPS, Data, TV, M2M, N&W at 7 and I think some other piddly options. $14 for both insurances then a 20% and a 10% discount. Having said that all 5 of us use way more than the 500 minute plan that Sprint offered for $30 which included text, data, m2m and n&w at 7. Even though we all use a TON of m2m minutes just get burned through. We only have 3 incoming phone lines and 1 fax. With 5 employees plus any visitors in the building sometimes using your cellular is your only option. It sounds excessive but we make our money via the phones, well I have been working on building an internet client el. I guess it doesn't matter as it is a rightoff regardless, but it is cheaper to have extra minutes that to ever go over just a little bit.

I also see you guys said something about a 6GB data plan, well that is pretty neat for $25. I mean I pay less than that for "unlimited" with a 5GB soft cap, but all the other providers in the US charge more than $25 for their "unlimited"and from what I have heard have a 5GB cap that is enforced. I obviously am using more than 5GB a month, never had an issue with Sprint and their cap though. 6GB is a ton of data though to move through a phone. I really don't think $25 is an out of line price at all.

Re: Lower your rate plan when buying a TP2

What add-on plan are you guys using for Unlimited Data? The only ones that I can find are the "Package 15" and "Package 25". I tried to switch over from my 6GB plan to one of those, but I was told by the CSR on the phone that the Package 15/25 plans are not available for Smartphones. If I look at the details of those plans, the fineprint does indeed say "PCS Phones Only".

Did you guys manage to get on one of those plans through a mistake on Telus' part, or are you going under a different add-on plan?

Thanks!

The unlimited data for 15.00 was from a while ago. It's long gone....

Man I don't know how you guys are getting all this for 45 bucks thru Telus. I've yet to see my monthly bill less than 130 bucks and I only have a few more anytime minutes/LD. Called Telus to see If they would do anything for me and they say all current plans are worse than what I have now.

I have 400 anytime minutes
200 Long Distance
Unlimited Text/Data etc

I pay 118 a month minimum even if I don't use the phone.

I've been with Telus for like 15 years too.

Ridiculous
