Re: Sprint CDMA Touch Pro 2 Spotted in the wild
To me, it makes Perfect sense to release the phone in June. Since it seems Apple is making a new Iphone debut annually in the summer(rumored to be June 8th this yr), Sprint has to counteract all the customers who will think about switching services. The Iphone has been the influential cell phone in history. No other phone has caused so many customers to switch service just to get a phone. You could always jail break an Iphone, but not every customer thinks about that.
If Sprint wants to survive, I think it's wise they release it early. In that case, I need to save up for the damn thing at full price. *sigh* |

One would almost think of using insurance for the TP1 to get into a TP2 in a few months due to the heating issues. Unless, someone were to create a TP2-type battery door for the TP1. In fact, that would be cheaper and easier for those of us not ready to upgrade. Come on Seidio and friends, think about it. |

Re: Sprint CDMA Touch Pro 2 Spotted in the wild
Like the phone but have something against HTC. I find it hard to support a company that released a phone with MAJOR heating issues, a screen that rainbows, and gps that lags combined with an attitude of "F**k you, stop bit**ing and buy our next product" which I can guarantee will have the exact same issues and more. If they even acted like they cared and fixed the gps lag I would have been happy.
They never even bothered to release any updates the pro. The extra screen space isn't worth the hassle of all the new problems that will arise and HTC not giving a damn. |
Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
i hope it comes out mid june. that would be great to grab the TP2 next month along with the pre for the old lady.

Re: Sprint CDMA Touch Pro 2 Spotted in the wild
I suppose I might be in the minority (at least in this thread) when I say with the apps I run, heat issues aren't too much of a problem. Sometimes the TP gets a little hot with say GPS use, but it's nothing unbearable, at least under my conditions/usage. Overall the TP does great for my needs, I have nothing against HTC.
A bigger screen is definitely nice, and I also like the fact that this will have the tilt feature like the TyTN II (AT&T Tilt/Kaiser). Most likely I'm in for this as an upgrade.. |
Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
Im trying to get my Lady to get the Pre too cuz I know for a fact that Im getting the Pro2 and I dont mind switching every once in a while... but what if she drops my phone or put it in her purse and scratches it up??? I might be going to prison...

Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
If they built the tilt mechanism anything like they did with the AT&T Tilt...I don't think we have anything to worry about.
My question is whether the hardware under the hood is really worth the upgrade. Most of us that are running custom ROM's are still enjoying added speed and functionality to our TP's. Yes, I know there are some construction issues with the TP's...but at the end of the day we want a device that works the way it is intended to work. Besides, I've only had my TP since Nov 08...not sure I'm ready to plop $$$$ down for a "minor" upgrade. Also, I'll be more willing to drop bucks on the "mythical" Android device that eventually Sprint will be willing to release. |
Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
anyone curious that maybe the orange details on the phone might hint at a fall release?
|
Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
No 3.5 mm headphone jack = no deal. Plus the first time you got something on your hands and pick up that phone each little hole is going to become plugged. I'm going to hold off for a while

Re: Sprint CDMA Touch Pro 2 Spotted in the wild
Maybe just me, but I think the missing TAB key on the keyboard blows. I like the TP1's layout better. The TP2's may be easier to use for people w/ large fingers, but I prefer having the extra keys on the TP1.
FYI, you can see higher-resolution pics of the TP2 in bigchico67's post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=69155 |

Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
I been out of contract for a few months now and i am on tp number 4 now. Hopefully they solved the overheating issues/battery life/keyboard failing issues. I just hope my first tp2 screen doesn't melt like my first tp

Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
If sprint have a perfectly(almost that is lol) working phone why not bring it out early. I question to way sprint even have a working model so quick. But I guess since its cdma/gsm it was easier to make a model for sprint(maybe) so dropping pre and tp2 would totally keep ppl on sprint or coming to them seeing that they will have two of the hottest new phones out. Stopping a few more new iphone sales. And if priced right lets say 399.99 out right with the option to send back your tp for 100 off would make that phone a steal..and for ppl with tighter pockets could get the tp for less. Everybody stay happy and keeping more ppl on the sprint network! Just my opinion tho I could be wrong

Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
phones gonna cost probably 600 without contract.

from what I could tell the chipset was all the same, so I'm sure that sped up fcc
|
Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
I'm sure they could do that, but that would mean everyone has to use a EVERYTHING DATA plan as well. However, release price will be around 500-600 but I'm sure it will drop almost 20-30% within 6 months :headbang::headbang:

the HTC diamond2 runs pretty smooth and it has about the same specs as the TP2. I think the added memory helps it a lot rather than uping the CPU frequency. |
Re: HTC Touch Pro2 for Sprint in June
But that's why I'm saying the price should be 400 out right cause its the same phone different shell..see what I'm saying now. 600 is kinda steep for just a "face" lift don't cha think. LoL
