How to extract imgfs.bin from a custom ROM
Hi,
I need to extract two dlls from a custom TP2 rom. I can extract os.nb from nbh file correctly. However, when I run imgfsfromnb, it generates zero length imgfs. I tried a number of custom roms and the result were the same. The dlls are for unicode sms transmission and receiving (HTC_SMS_Providers.dll and SMS_Providers.dll). Is there anyway to extract it correctly? Jeff |

1) if you want to extract dll files, check out rom extractor
2) moved to correct forum |
Re: How to extract imgfs.bin from a custom ROM
Well how rom extractor will help me in this case? My tp 2 does not have those 2 dlls. They are in the custom rom installation nbh file that supports unicode. I just need to get the imgfs from the custom rom installation without having to install to my tp 2 first.

Why not install the ROM?

Jeff, if you can provide the specific ROM...

Wirelessly posted (htc Pocket PC: Sprint/HTC_Touch_Pro2_T7380 Opera/9.70 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en))
I must say I think you're going about this the wrong way. Is this a RhodiumW or a GSM Rhodium you are working with here? For sms/mms you should just need the correct settings for the carrier she is using this device with. Maybe there is a simple cab install available. If calls work on this network then sms should certainly function. |

Re: How to extract imgfs.bin from a custom ROM
I took it from my custom rom found in the cdma touch pro 2 section "userROM" . so if that's not what you're looking for maybe post the link to the rom you need like horndoctor and others suggested .

[rom]wm6.5.3 29017+6.5 21916+6.1 21057 - xda-developers It looks like GSM version Rom. But since I only need the HTC_SMS_Providers.dll and SMS_Providers.dll out of it, it shouldn't brick the phone. I think these two will provide the proper encoding for sending the sms and mms. Jeff |

Re: How to extract imgfs.bin from a custom ROM
Had you found a way to extract files from your cooked ROM?
If no there is a way to extract/modify any ROM.Go to http://aniruddhamukherjee.wikispaces...n+HTC+nbh+file and follow the instuctions. Only thing to change is the compression method used for your device. see this at step 6 : Generate new Imgfs from Dump. e.g. for my device which is Touch HD aka Blackstone the compression format is XPR and not LZX. Try this method ! |

Try kle54's method for extraction on PC if you cannot find GSM user to flash rom... And let us know if it works! |
