have u tried different USB ports on the computer? it really sounds like a hardware issue from this point. if u don't want to lose ur contacts u can set them to be synched with either ur Gmail or hotmail accounts by entering m.gmail/hotmail.com and then ur username and password in the add server source menu within ActiveSync on the tp2. u can also use a backup program such as spb backup or sprite backup. after this u can try a hard reset with clear storage, this will also reinstall drivers like @aedon said. if there's still problems then it is a hardware issue.

I personally have all my contacts on a sim card.
I know that the tp2 doesnt really use a sim card but I just save my contact on it

Then when I flash or hard reset, i copy over my contacts and then remove it.

I took the sim card off my moms old nextel phone and it worked fine.
Maybe you can just get a sim card from any kinda phone

Using windows 7. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

In my opinion, the only way to know for sure that you have a hardware problem is to flash the shipped rom back on your device and then delete partnerships and uninstall then reinstall WMDC on your PC. Backup any data you want to save first of course. Then if things work you can always flash a custom rom after you troubleshoot.
