Startup programs.
 

I'm looking to try running Squeezer on some of the exe's that run when you start the phone to improve boot time (phone is no longer active, only use it for a gps lap timer now) and I would like to know what programs run at startup.

Btw, running the freeza barebones rom which I know makes a difference, but just looking to know what some of the core WM programs are. Using dotfred I identified some running programs but it figured there were some programs that run only at startup.

device.exe , gwes.exe, and filesys.exe are the 3 main ones. if u mess with those u can freeze the phone.

squeezing gwes.exe doesnt really help. Gwes.exe has some sort of memory leak/memory release issue. it will grow and grow in size during the period between reboots and doesnt ever seem to go down in size. Only time it goes down is during a reboot. Its one of the issues with WM6.5 and WM6.5.x (possibly with WM 6.1 as well).
Also messing with those 3 files is not recommended as they are the 3 most critical files to the OS.

cprog.exe, services.exe, or nk.exe?
You can disable or remove Bluetooth and Activesync if you don't use it.

Honestly, I don't know if doing any of that will speed up boot time any more than what you have now.
