Better way to back up app/data before ROM upgrade?

I have a sprint TP2 which I used it on the ATT network for over one year now. It is getting sluggish and I think it is time to do a rom upgrade. Currently I have enery rom on it and what is a better way to back up all my data/applications so I can easily restore them after the ROM upgrade? It will be a nightmare if I have to manual reinstall all the applications on it one by one. And the data as well. :???:

no because they do not have a reliable restore if ur doing it from ROM to ROM. the best way is to learn either sashimi or UC. or u can use the marketplace to restore the apps u installed from it, there's also MS myPhone or exchange that can restore contacts, calendar and files (my phone only) but of course MS will be shutting the myPhone service down soon.

I would be very careful with full system restore. Usually - at least in my experience - you get more than you've bargained for (registry mess, etc.) It does save time, but you may end up spending even more time cleaning up the problems that surface later.

I usually sync all PIM data to Google, back up Program Files, My Documents and Start Menu to card, use XDA_UC to restore programs after HR, but then it's a somewhat tedious process of re-syncing the data back from Google, restoring all registrations, and copying back the Start Menu.
