Screen turns off when sliding keyboard out?

My TP2 has started turning the screen off when i slide the keyboard out. In order to use the screen when i slide the keyboard out, i have to hit the power button twice. It also turns the screen off if i slide the keyboard closed. Does anybody know how to fix this?

I don't think it's related but i am currently running the Energy Titanium Rom.

yup that sounds like a hardware issue just like @Tinkerbell said. if u dont feel comfortable with the disassembly u can also call sprint for a replacement if u have insurance.

Re: Screen turns off when sliding keyboard out?

I took the whole thing apart sans the back cover to the screen. However, that looks like where the problem would probably be. The back cover of the screen is alot more complicated than i thought! I'd probably break the thing if i tried to dissasemble it so I'll leave it be for now.

I'm out of warranty (by less than a month sadly) so i'll have to live with it
