Touch Pro 2 How to Hard Reset? Nothing I Try Works
 

I've tried every combination I can think of and nothing works. I can "Clear Storage" to reset to factory default but that's if the phone works.

Yesterday it locked up and soft resetting would allow the phone to turn on but I couldn't enter the 1234 to do a "Clear Storage". I could type the letters but they wouldn't appear.

The Sprint TP2 manual (page 95) reads: "Press and hold Talk and End keys and the Power button" - Doesn't work.

Other searches have revealed "Hold the Volume Up and Down while pressing the Power button with the phone OFF. Nope.

I can't find the magic combination. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone with A Sprint HTC Touch Pr 2 successfully done a hard reset using some combination of buttons?

To hard reset the Touch Pro 2 when the device is powered off, the first thing you need to do is make sure you warm up your fingers because you’ll need them to be flexible in order to get this just right. Press and hold the following 3 keys – Call, Hang Up, and Volume Down. Now, with all 3 of those buttons pressed, you need to take the stylus and press the reset button on the side of the phone. Continue to hold those keys until you see a white screen with instructions on how to continue. Follow the on-screen instructions and you’re good. Works for me... hope it works for you as well!!!

if push comes to shove u can also try reflashing the stock rom

to hard reset , with the device off , all you havr to do is press the send key , the hang up key , and then hold the power button down all at the same time . It should flash the bootloader screen , then ask you if you want to hard reset by pressing the vol up button . Good luck . Its not quite as complicated as tink's suggestion .

one thing ive notice about hard reseting is that even if you press all three, it doesnt always work, it sometimes tends to just turn on

what ive noticed is that its not always a same time press thing

FIRST press the end and send key,

THEN, (while still holding the 2 front keys) press and hold the power and wait

if that doesnt work, like a post above ses, flash a rom

you can download stock roms for the phone on the htc website

Actually , the sequence in which you press the keys doesnt matter , as long as you do the power button last . when you try to hard reset and it just turns on , you probably dont have a button pressed fully , or , in my situations , i press the power button instead of HOLDing it down .

its just like when I discovered that u don't have to hold power and volume down to get to bootloader u just hold volume down while soft resetting.

its acually exactly what i said
i know that the order doeasnt matter so long as they are all pressed, so i was just saying to be sure to first press the other two befor pressing the power as i have less issues when holding the other 2 down first befor even pressing the power button

The hardware way is hit or miss, I noticed. It'll make you feel stupid lol

It sounds like your digitizer has gone bad? Have you tried flashing a stock rom as a way to hard reset?
