Encrypted File option keeps going back to checked? WTF?

Yea so it is told that you should uncheck this box so you don't delete your files when you hard reset or flash a new ROM. I'm using Vin's Plutonium by the way. Well, I uncheck the box, but when I go back to it, it is checked again. It was unchecked by default when I first installed the ROM, so what is the problem?

First thing we need to know to answer this question is if the encryption driver is included in the ROM... To save space some chefs will remove the encryption driver because it will save space in XIP etc because alot of people will not use it.

If the encryption driver is removed then this bahavior is "normal". If the encryption driver is present then something is wrong.

To be honest with you I dont know why he would leave the option available if the driver is not present unless he does not know the correct reg key to change to hide this option. So to answer this question you need to ask the Chef if he has the encryption driver in the ROM.

If the encryption driver is present then something has gone horribly wrong with device. My guess is no encryption driver and chef does not know how to hide option with reg key.

An easy way to tes this theory real quickly... Put card in SD reader and plug into PC. If you can read files youa re fine and the encryption driver is absent. If you cannot read files then the driver is present. Make sense?

Let us know how it turns out.

Yea yea, good stuff, good stuff. I actually can read the files when I plug SD card into pc. Cool. The reason I was asking is that I want to flash ROMs from my phone and I was afraid that once I flash from the SD card and the phone boots, that the ROM that it is reading from the SD card will not be there to tell the phone what to do while loading up....I may be wrong here about it working like that?

No it doesnt work like that. Once you flash from SD card the ROM image is then stored ON the phone and the RMO IMAGE on SD Card is just another file.

Because you can see files in SD Reader then you are fine. Nothing to worry about. Ignore the chedck box.
