Auto Turn off Wifi

What is the setting for automatically turn off wifi when there is no wireless network nearby? I have tried searching for 'auto turn off wifi" but I get hundreds of posts and it would take a long time to search through them. I cannot seem to be able to find posts with just the topic of interest.

Wirelessly posted (htc Pocket PC: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) Sprint MP6950SP)

Go to Settings/Connections Tab/Wi-Fi then click on Menu softkey then Advanced. Then make your selection.

there isnt anything to "automatically" turn off wifi..

if you think about it something like this would require wifi to always "ping" to check for networks.. the battery drain, in addition to whatever else the user has going on, would be ever increasing IMO..

Your both right.... and wrong....

SOME builds have the ability to do this. Some dont. Yep, it was a feature that may not be available in all builds. If it is avail its under the "Power" Tab where you move the slider left or right. If the option is available it will be right below this. Its a check box to automatically disconnect if not connected.

Humm... I was going to check on this for my build, but where is this power tab? In sense, or elsewhere?

This is buit in windows setting, not Sense.

Go to your wifi connections in Windows settings. Its in there.

Have you tried this reg key to make sure it is set at "0"? 1 - enabled, 0 - disabled.

Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms]
"HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001
