How do I get the TP2 to use Wifi rather than 3g when surfing at home?
I notice that the TP2 connects primarily to 3g rather than my WiFI at home. I want to use my WiFI since it's faster than 3g.
How do I force it to use Wifi and still receive phone calls. Other option I did was shut down phone. in Comm settings but I don't get calls or messages. |

try turning off data after u connect to wifi. its also automatically tuned to use wifi first before the actual data connection the usual trajectory is Activesync/Wifi then data. im exactly the opposite i use my 3g connection primarily because im paying for it and also because i dont see the difference between it and wifi unless im watching video or when i dont get a good 3g connection then ill also use wifi.

So it is automatically set to use wi fi first? I was at a Panera where they have WiFI and you need to go to their webpage and authorize first before webpages will show. I had both WiFi on and 3g. I logged in Opera and was surfing already. I turned off the phone in comm settings and went back to Opera. This time Panera's authorization page came up in the browser.
So I couldn't get my TP2 to use Wifi first. |

yea def just use the 3g connection in that case. public wifi networks are usually slower than the 3g connection.

having wifi ON is not enough it has to actually be CONNECTED to a router or something.
mine is set to auto connect (it will always auto connect if you tell it to you have to do it manually one time for each router after that auto connect) if I turn on wifi and one of my auto connect routers is nearby and connectible it connects and does not use the 3g all automatically on its own. just wait for the "wifi" to actually connect before you start using data. |
