Bluetooth tether Motorola Xoom to TP2?

Has anyone with a Xoom and TP2 been able to tether the Xoom to the TP2's internet connection?

I tried, I get "Failed to establish Internet Sharing connection to remote device as supports only Network Access Point (NAP) mode"

I've tethered a Xoom to the TP2.

1). Boot to Android. I used ProjectAndroid2.2Froyo.112210.cab
2). Don't use Bluetooth. The Tethering & portable hotspot mode in Settings works well.

3). Enjoy not paying BigRed $20/mo for a single GB.

Thanks, unfortunately there's a program I need for work that is only available in Windows Mobile so I have to stick with that. I should have mentioned that but your tip will help some people.

Does anyone know how to do it in 6.5, or if it's even possible?

You just need to use the phone's wifi and turn it into a hotspot (I think it's ad-hoc). You can use WMWifiRouter, which costs money (though there are older versions before it was made into shareware). You can also use HTC's version of the same thing called CM Internet Sharing. There are probably several cabs floating around, but I linked one below. It's very simple to use and I think it puts a shortcut in HTC Comm Manager, as well as the start menu.

The problem with this is that 90% of Android devices don't connect to Ad Hoc networks. The Droid X seems to connect so you'll have better luck using an Android device (OS) to connect with an Android device (Xoom).

Thanks for the tip. This is making my wifi Xoom that much more useful!

I'm sure there is a way to connect the xoom to an ad hoc network .. that's really weird that it can't . look around in the settings on the xoom

to connect android devices to ad hoc you need to replace the wpa_supplicant file found in system/bin...

this one works for me.. back up the one on your XOOM first, then copy this file in..
