TP2 Cannot recharge
 

Hi Pros out there:),

First of all sorry for my bad English...

I recently get a problem with my phone. The phone will recharge ONLY when its switched off. It wont charge while its on, Ive tried using wall and usb from computer with no luck.

Im currently using latest ROM from NRG. I suspect its a ROM problem, because when the phone is off, it will charge happily, so I try to restore it to the original ROM. Unfortunately, the battery indicator is showing 0% charge (even after i fully recharge it, green led), so I couldn't do the ROM update, since it requires 50% or more charge on the battery.

The problem is your charger and the 1% battery driver which don't work together. Try the stock charger or try to charge while tethered. If this works, then your charger will not work with ROMs that use the 1% driver.

I have tested several of the custom ROMs and only a few will consistently charge with a variety of chargers, see my post:

I've used several charger, including the original charger with no luck. I even tried tether and charging, but that doesn't work either.
Luckily I figured out that I can actually do a hard reset. LOL. Stupid me. After the hard reset, I can recharge my device again YAY!!!!! So its confirmed that it was a ROM flaw (NRG) thank you once again

A hard reset just resets nrg's ROM to the way it was right after you flashed (ie it's still NRG's ROM...). If it fixed the problem, then the problem was caused by something you did/installed or something being corrupted. Anytime you are having a problem that could be related to hardware, just flash the stock ROM for your carrier and see if it still occurs. If it does, then it's a hardware problem.

Also, if you go to Settings -> About Phone -> Battery, there's a setting "When phone is on, do not charge the battery when connected to a PC". Are you sure you didn't turn it on by mistake ? A HR would reset it back to the default (off).

No idea why this setting is needed...
