Text message split screen problem.
 

I've run out of ideas. I've tried several roms, 6.5 and 6.5.X, over-clocking, and different glyph settings. Sliding my keyboard to respond to a text seems to give my screen a split when I exit the text and go to look at another text message. I have to exit out of messaging in landscape, then go back in to get rid of the split screen effect. I use the MS text app, not the HTC one (font is too small on the Sense default text app). I even use the Titanium interface to save memory. I text a lot and it drives me crazy. Any ideas out there in PPCGEEKS land?

how much available RAM do you have at any given time??

how many texts do you have??

clear everything out of message and start fresh... if you have 100's or maybe even 1000's of message, this is probably the culprit..

I know what your talking about, happens rarely to me... I run JUL. 17 NRG w/ CHT 1.8.5 and almost never have any issue with messaging and the problem you describe

Maybe try a 6.1 rom like the shipped rom or Scrosler's 6.1 rom.

i think that happens if u had eZinput open when u slide the keyboard out to landscape mode as there seems to be a delay for the screen to refresh that part where eZinput keyboard used to be at least that's my experience. but what i found is that u can type jus as fast with the eZinput set to compact keyboard mode or by shifting into landscape mode without sliding the keyboard and use that one. i rarely even use my hardware keyboard in this case.

I seem to recall experiencing that on CHT 185, but don't quote me. Try horndoctor's recommendation first...

I have the same issue with my phone, on every ROM I've tried. It's never an issue until about 3 weeks after I flash... I clear out my messages nightly, I always have an empty inbox/sent/deleted folder.

I've seemed to have linked mine to failing flash memory. My phone starts getting corruption after about a month without flashing. I mean, file errors, programs not found, missing graphics, etc.

Reflash always fixes it until the next time... but then again, it could just be my phone.

Nope. SD card has no corruption. It's the internal storage that starts getting corrupted.

ouch! I'd say if you were OC'ing, then don't, but you're not...

Okay, so an open, or close failure - file mgt failure. What rom u on? lockups? in other words, any abnormal termination of the OS - If file mgt isn't completed even once it can cause a chain reaction to the file structure...

I guess you've tried flashing the shipped rom or running task29 then flashing a custom rom to see if it helps?
