Yes, did it. Did it in person at repair center.

Could it be because the tp2 was the last phone they allowed to be activated on the regular sero...and sprint is sticking with that decision?

thats because the fee doesnt affect sero customers...

I don't know Sprint's exact reasoning.

FWIW, a supervisor in Business Accounts told me any smartphone activation on a legacy SERO plan would not incur the smartphone fee. I tested this statement by activating a TP2 on a legacy SERO. The rep at the store scanned the phone's barcode, and this activated the phone. Not sure if activating online or via phone would be any different, but I doubt it.

u dont have to pay the $10 fee if you are getting a replacement phone thru sprint insurance. they stated that.
