(SKIN) Iphone SMS Chat Bubbles for WM Threaded Messaging!
 

Hey guys, are you tired of the boring look of your windows mobile sms messaging? well here is a great skin ive been working on. this skin shows each sms in its own chat bubble, it even shows the person's contact photo at the top. currently ive only made this skin in blue but i am taking requests for different colors.

Requirements:
You need to have threaded messaging enabled
Ive tested this on Energyrom 6.5.x. can someone test on 6.5 for me?

I am not the original creator of this skin, i just edited a few things in a cab made by peaster111 over @ xda. i added my own touch by changing the title to black, and changed the color of the bubbles and text. so big thanks to peaster111 and anyone else that helped create the original green skin! without their work, this would not be possible :)

on 6.5 the top of the bubbles are cut off. on Vins Neo... still looks better than stock though, thanks.

27 downloads with hardly any feedback... what do you guys think? should i make more colors and make versions compatable with wm 6.5? im open to any suggestions

thanks man,but i got a little problem the top of the bubbles are cut off but i can still read the text is there a fix for that

are you on 6.5.x or 6.5? can you post a screenshot? sounds like you are on 6.5. i will try and make a 6.5 version later today

its 6.1 i just look at the samples on here and i just notice why it looks cut off, its missing the top where the date and time is

to the OP:
You probably should thank Mintishhippo for making the skin in the first place. It appears you just changed the color of a png or 2. You should give him some credit since the most of the files in your cab have identical md5/sha1 hashes as in "Mintishhippo iPhone SMS Skin latest 653.cab". I personally have never really liked the iphone skins he made, but good work nonetheless.

umm i clearly stated that all i did was edit a few files, change a few things and change the colors of a theme someone else previously made. the cab i edited said peaster111 so i thanked him. i have no idea who mintishhippo is but thanks to him too i guess! :dontknow: the only reason i made this thread is because after i changed a few things i showed a few people, they said they looked forward to me posting it when i finished... but anyways, glad you like it.

What's up Puff! Just wanted to post a screenie to show what it looks like on 6.5 in case you hadn't seen it for yourself. It's hard to tell if I'll like it or not with the tops cut off like they are.

It's been a few days since you've posted here. Did you ever make any headway in this area?

Very nice. Much better than stock. You asked about colour preferences. I like the blue but I do find that I am having difficulties with the blue background, makes it hard to read the text. Can you do one with a lighter blue or a lighter text colour on the dark blue. Maybe a yellow or light red?

He hasn't posted in this thread for a while. Changing colors is easy. I can't remember exactly what it's the cab right now, but when I have time, I'll sit down and see if I can make the bubbles in several different colors.

Thanks very much. I took a quick peek at the xml file but not knowing the codes for the colours I didn't want to mess with it. If you can tell me what to look for I can try it myself.

I believe it's just pngs that need color changing. I'm trying a few cabs out now that I've made with some different colors, will post in a bit, if they work right.

Ok, so I sat down to simply make the bubbles different colors, but then I was like...uuummm, I'd rather make bubbles I like. So based off of Kimi_sae_irba's People Messaging Mod for Sense 2.5 SMS Bubbles that look like this screenshot:

I made Kimi style skins for WM Messaging as seen below. :D

I'm staying out of this whole who made what thing. All I know is that I've skinned it, again. Oh, and I also adjusted the iframe_style and thread_style documents so that the font is all black and not italicized anymore. I also changed the white TO and FROM font to black and changed the Black title bar to white. So yeah, I think it rocks! I'll make some different color bubbles though too, if you still want. Let me know.

Oh as far as what you would need to edit things yourself, to get rid of italics:

In the "iframe_style" document you'll find these lines:
to remove the italics, I just removed that whole italics line so it looks like this: To change the color of the font to black I just changed the 3 or 4 color codes I saw in that same document to #000000 (Black). You could experiment to see which one is for which line of text. I wanted them all black so I didn't bother. HERE's a site with some basic color codes.

To Change the color of the font in the title bar look in the "thread_style" document for these lines:
Just change the "color: #fff" to whatever color you want.


@ Everyone,

6.5.X ONLY

Obviously, this is the same cab as is posted in the 1st post. So, the inherent problem of it not working with WM 6.5 still exist. I've only skinned the png files and changed a tiny bit of code.

How do I apply it to WM messaging? I mean using the slider to messages, click on screen, it's still old style?

If you're talking about my skin, it only work on WM Messaging. I only posted the Sense messaging screenie so that people could see where I got the skin from. This cab has nothing to do with Sense messaging.

Installing the cab will install it to WM Messaging.

i was trying to make it have the contact image in the upper conner but i kinda failed lol

yo, i managed to get it finished
i added a background and the contct image onto the side of the title bar
i ended up kinda splicing up your css and hml scripts with the scripts from ninja4hire 's dark iphone sms skins on austronauts page

i went through all this trouble cause the originals dont work on the energyrom that great, and yours does
but your laks the contact image

best part is i got the images to work to, but just like on th austronaut ones, only the most recent persons image will show

if you sent the last message it will show the red image shown here unless you save your own number in yourphone, say as voicmail or something
and then save an image for your own number
it will have their picture if tey answered last tho :)

**EDIT**
Alright so it came to my attension that this cab is pretty big,
its actualy just the background jpeg.. wich is actually about 710 kb alone
so.. if anyone wants to test this out and ask for spesific color and bakgrounds, ill give it a try and to get the image not to be so fat :P
