how change function of "X" in task window?

used tp2 6.5 stock just activated (Sprint)

how change function of "X" in window?

default is to put task in background.

I forget how to change that default, or was it a launcher app or something that allowed me to do that?

EDIT: my bad, it was an app called Launcher 2006 on my Mogul. Wonder if that will work on my tp2...

i recommend u flash to the stock sprint 6.1 rom or one based off it. the stock 6.5 is too problematic. the stock 6.1 comes with a taskmanager that has that option.

the stock sprint 6.5 rom doesnt come with htc task manager installed... if you look around u could find htc task manager .cab... it should be in one of the stickied threads in the tp2 section

6.5 comes with a task manager, but I do not know if that is different from the HTC task mgr that you mention.....

Followup:
Was talking with MS folk over on their forum and sent them a pic and the taskmanager is of MS, not HTC origins.

So I tried HTC TM 2.1 (the latest I could find), but after it installed and I rebooted, I couldn't find it anywhere (why does this happen???), so removed it, which caused a few minutes of weirdnesses, but phone is fine.

I tried "touch X taskmanager", and that showed the "old" window (the one I get on my 6.1 Mogul), but the checkboxes did not change anything. So I assume the function is simply not there.

Thanks, but that's the same as the 2.1HTC TM that I had tried - It has the "old" configuration look and checkboxes, but the checkboxes don't do anything - programs remain active in background.
