Email won’t download message body
I have a stock 6.1 rom. I have my GMAIL setup as an IMAP account. I have it set to download all messages every 4 hours with a message size limit of “all text, no images”.
However, every time I get a new message, the body says “Message will download next time you connect and receive e-mail”. The message body stays this way for days, even if I receive new emails (without the message body). Right now every message older than 4 days has the entire message but everything newer then 4 days has the title only and no body. I can’t get it to download the entire message. Any ideas? |
Re: Email won’t download message body
try setting the size limit to 10k or 20k. As far as I know the email app doesn't show images unless you tap on "show web images" while veiwing the email. The only reason I can think it would be doing this is possibly new IMAP settings from Gmail? I don't know. I don't know what could have changed 4 days ago.
Last resort would be to delete the account from your phone and set it up again. Since it's IMAP you won't lose anything. |
Re: Email won’t download message body
It has been like this for as long as I can remember, not just from 4 days ago. The message bodies don't show up until a few days after the original message. Not always the same number of days and not always in order either.

You could try setting the message size limit to "entire message" and set it to plain text instead of HTML. Also, set it to not download attachments. That way you won't see pictures just text. |
Re: Email won’t download message body
Thanks guys. This must have been a bug because nothing I tried worked.
I deleted the account and re-created it. All is working fine now. |
