How to take Alltel Rom, off TP and flash onto TP2?

I was reading other threads about using the Alltel ROM and it seems to me like it will work, BUT now that VZW has taken over Alltel, will I still be able to activate the TP2 with using both bands? And will I be able to register the TP2 still using the alltel rate plan I've got? Will I have any conflict?

Sorry to tell you, but that will not work. A ROM for one device will not work on another device.

It wouldn't brick the device unless he flashed the radio as well. It just wouldn't boot if the wrong OEMDrivers and OEMXIPKernel were used (or more factual, it would probably constantly reboot over and over :)).

OP, what is it that you are trying to accomplish with the Alltel ROM? The TP is VGA and TP2 is WVGA. The graphics would be messed up vertically if you used VGA packages.

well you see what I'm trying to do is NOT have two different phones, but to have both combined into my TP2. I've got what was a locked USC TP2, but I did get it unlocked, thanks to this site and the help. Now I'm on a different mission. I would like to have the alltel cdma version and not the usc thats on there now. I put it in gsm, and I get t mobile service, but in hard to reach parts of the world, theres a state called wisconsin and, sometimes you cannot get service peroid, but when you can it seems to be alltel and I like my plan thru them. That's what I'm trying to do in a nutshell.

So I do not need a rom, just a radio? I'm soo confused:???::scratch:

Well, if you have a US Cellular TP2 technically it could work on the Alltel/Verizon network because they all use cdma technology but you would have to get Alltel/Verizon to add your ESN(Electronic Serial Number) to thier network which will most likely be futile. ;)
If your device is SIM Unlocked for US GSM Networks you can get a SIM card from a GSM carrier like AT&T or T-Mobile and use your device on those networks.
When you say "unlocked" do you mean that it is hspl unlocked so you can flash custom roms or have you purchased the SIM Unlocker and SIM Unlocked?
SIM Unlocking is what you want if you want to use your TP2 on US GSM networks.
I hope I'm not just confusing you more! lol! :D

Unlocked means both, at first I flashed the hspl thinking that it would "release" it from the US Cell network. Nope I needed SIM unlocked so I bought it, and well I am able to have T Mobile on what was a locked USC phone, and I also flashed a stock T Mobile ROM and zero problems.

As for using the CDMA part I can just roll up to a VZW kiosk and get it switched although it was attached to the USC CDMA? If that's the case I'm off to get it swapped over, F*&^ using 2 phones, GHEY.

Thanks for all that had posted, even if ya'll didn't quite understand the question!
