FF Syndrome and Backups
Hi guys,
I wanted to know what others suffering from Frequent Flash Syndrome like me do when it comes to backing up and restoring? What is the best method you have found to flash to anew version of your rom without having to install all your programs again. I use exchange so i'm not worried about thats stuff, but the pain of installing and setting up all my programs again. Thanks for your input! |
Wirelessly posted (VZW TP2: Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
look for a rom that supports xda_uc. Then setup ur xda_uc dir on storage card with the cabs you want installed.... It saves me a lot of time. Plus most of the apps I use have functions to export settings so one its installed, import settings and good. Some apps wont allow export and import of registration keys so still have to manually do that (biggest pain is CorePlayer but well worth the trouble). |

i hate Sashimi, complete garbage IMO (takes more work and dosen't work as well as xda_uc).
xda_uc_net is xda_uc with more features/options but you can just drop it on your storage card and run it after you flash on any rom (including rom's that don't have xda_uc cooked in). get it below :) [2010/11/02] XDA_UC_NET - portable UC, Sense GUI. (0.9.4.4) - xda-developers |
Re: FF Syndrome and Backups
actually sashimi has any option you could dream of. also I find it as simple as putting my cabs in the auto\cabs folder.
and for the op, don't panic, you'll learn some management techniques to keep that ffs under control. I've actually almost got my six month tolken, but alas I'm in the middle of swiching back to tp1. so a flashing i will go. ;) |
