TP2 backlight setting is all screwed up & keeps changing

I have no idea why my TP2 backlight settings keep on changing. I have the "On battery power" setting set to 1 minute and it keeps on changing to 10 seconds. I have tried soft resets and that has not corrected the issue. :banghead:

Any suggestions?

New update, the battery was dying on me after 6 hours of moderate use so I went out and purchased a new one. The new battery is behaving the exact same way.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

to OP,
Your saying , after changing the backlight settings to dim display to one minute , it automatically gets changed back to 10 seconds ?

Try hard reset . Which ROM you using ? try stock shipped ROM . It sounds like a registry error or file placement error . not sure what else to tell you without more info .

I am running Sprint's ROM (nothing custom). Needless to say a hard reset is the last thing I wish to do. ](*,)
I was hoping for an easier fix.

Did you install any power managment or battery mod? Sometimes a hard reset is a nessessary evil.

I haven't anything to the TP2 in months. This just stated lately and the only thing I have done to the phone is to update the profile. Could this be the culprit?

From a previous thread:

I've run into this before, and haven't figured out exactly what triggers this, but this is how to fix it.

First set the time to what you want (1 minute, or whatever). Then go into your Registry:

HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight\LockLevel\LockLevel - the dWord there should be 0. I've found it set to 1 or 2, for no apparent reason.

This still happens to me periodically, and I've had my TP2 for over a year. Very frustrating, but at least it's easily fixed.

See if this works for you.

Are you using a screen locking app or power management app that could be overriding the standard backlight settings like s2u2?

I've had this problem in the past and it may be caused by S2U2.
