round vs squared menubar softkeys in wm6.5.3 and wm6.5.x
 

I have installed Sprint Lovers ROM on my Sprint TP2 (CE OS 5.2.28232 (Build 28232.5.3.3)).

In this ROM, the softkeys in the bottom menubar are all round. However, I have seen screen shots of many other wm6.5.3 custom ROMs that have the more elegant round version of menubar's softkeys. Compare the menubars in my two screen shots to see what I mean.

Does anyone know how to change the menubar softkeys to the round versions? If anyone knows of any ROM that has this added features for Sprint TP2, please let me know.

i believe those can be changed without switching roms. someone will be along shortly..

but the first pic has round soft keys, the second has rectangle(standard/stock aka not round) softkeys...

but to quote you so I dont get it.... if the ROM you have has round soft keys already...

OK, I corrected the order of the pictures, but let's be more civil in our conversations.


Yes, the picture with the squared menubar softkeys is from my ROM, and the other picture is one I found on the internet.

If anyone knows of a way to make the change from the squared ones to the elegant round ones (which also resembles the round buttons in pocket IE of wm6.5), please let everyone know. Thanks.

From my understanding that seems to be dependent on the theme u are using. The one with the squared icons is the htc black theme while the more rounded keys is the windows classic blue theme or whatever. Back when i first flashed to mightyrom full force (im on stock 6.1 now) it had the htc black theme set so the keys were squared when i changed themes they switched to the round ones and in some of the older themes that i made back in the wm5 days there are no shape for the keys at all (they just blended into the bottom bar) so try changing themes goto start-settings-personal-home or today then select a different theme.

Maybe you could install this icon changer:

Then try to find the icons you want to change and replace them with the style you want. You will have to make or find those icons though.

eric12341: :toothy7:Thank you so much for this info, and you are absolutely correct. My theme by default was HTC Black, and changing it to anything like Classic Blue results in the round buttons. So you have solved my problem of how to get the round softkey buttons in the menu bar. Thank you.

Here is another request for everyone. Does anyone know of a CAB for a theme that preserves the HTC Black them but uses the round buttons instead of the squared ones? I don't like the blue, red, purple, orange, or green highlighting that I get from these other themes. I rather have the gray highlighting of HTC Black theme, but I want to get the round buttons instead of the squared ones. Does anyone know of a way doing this?

This app only changes icons of apps in the Start menu, nothing more. It cannot change icons for softkeys in the menu bar.
