Can you assign one of the physical keys to unlock the phone?

Can you assign one of the physical keys to unlock the phone, using the key remapping app? Sometimes your finger misses the sliding lock or moves to quickly, failing to unlock the phone. So, I thought it would be nice if one of the keys was assigned for unlocking.

But doesn't that defeat the purpose of a lock?
I mean, if you disable the lock you just push the power button.

You have a valid point. Maybe I should have elaborated my question in my OP, although there was a hint. What I really want to do is to be able to pick up the phone while driving. I didn't specifically mention this in my OP because it's not good practice to talk on the phone while driving in the first place and it is illegal in some parts of the world - not mine yet.

But removing the soft lock and resorting to the power button does result in accidental switch-on's and mayhem like unintended launching of apps that may follow, like you mentioned. So I was thinking if I could assign double-clicking of the "talk" button or "long press" of the volume button, I could answer the phone easily even while driving.

Is it possible?

csdevctrl (autolock) it add's tons of options to the built in lock, including auto unlock when the power button is pushed to wake up the phone.

+1
I use Slide2UnlockPro and when my phone is asleep and locked if I get a call all I do is slide to answer or ignore. If I had slide to answer disabled (which I believe is possible) I would just press talk to answer. I don't have to unlock first.

I'm sorry my question was not phrased comprehensively.

But what about when you want to make a call? It will come in handy to unlock the phone with a physical button in that case.
