Help! Weather Won't Update WinMo6.5 Sprint
 

As far as I know, this has only started today. My Weather won't update. It has stayed on the night time reading and when I try to update it, I get a Connection Error with the report:" There was a connection error while attempting to download weather data. Retry?"

When I tap Yes, I still get the error. I turned off the phone and turned it back on and it did update for that current weather. But, when I tried to update it again, I still get the Error Message.

Any ideas?

I would suggest deleting your location, then adding it again.

dont worry man, ive been through this, it happens from time to time lol... the problem is the weather server that sense uses is down or something. there is nothing wrong with your tp2. give it a few days and it should be working. its happened to me a couple times and not even hard resets will fix it.

OK, thanks for the info. I tried Googling and searching but all the threads I found were 2-3 years old or more.

heres what i do when i experience this first hit start then settings>today>items and uncheck sense to turn it off then open file explorer and navigate to \My device\application data\htc\databases then delete that forecast cache file. after than re enable sense and the weather should update now

Hey, I bet you could set that file or folder as a custom file to clean with ClearTemp or something.

it wouldn't work without disabling sense first because the file is in use but its worth a try.

I'm with puff, this happens often and is usually because the server is down.

I tried eric's trick and it didn't work.

Then I remembered if you run JVH weather city editor you can change servers. I had switched to conflipper because not2advanced was so unreliable in the past. I switched back to not2advanced and I've got weather again.
It would appear to me that conflipper is down and has been down for a couple days.

yeah, I should have tried it last night when I was looking at it...

I tried it this morning - it seemed not to let me delete it. I was able to rename it to x but weather didn't care. So I went ahead and stopped sense, got rid of x and started sense back up and weather apparently started itself up just fine and created a new one... Oh well!

Three West is right. I messed with this for the better part of a day before realizing Conflipper was down. For me, I just uninstalled the Conflipper cab (Conflipper_North_America_Weather_V5.cab). You'll have to re-populate your favorite weather cities list, but otherwise, you are good to go!

it ALWAYS works for me,don't know what ur doin wrong. maybe its ur weather city editor,i don't use that because I just use the location feature.

did just as you said, but that wasn't my issue.

I switched away from the conflipper server and my weather is back, so apparently (as BullyDawg agreed) conflipper's down again.

can we use a different site with conflipper mod? anyone else ever make weather mod? THIS SUX. closest city to me is 150 miles away, according to freaking stock weather app.

I never used conflipper just cause I didn't care for the shotgun approach.
I use the "weather city editor" by JVH3. You have to manually enter the towns you want, but now I get to choose what weather server I wish to use.

well there certainly is if you want to know the weather in a city that's not in the limited stock database. The nearest city in the database was over 100 miles away from my home location.

as i stated before... the server thats used to update the weather is the issue here... those weathere database editors use different servers. thats why some people have the issue and some dont.

You have to use the JVH3 Weather City Editor a few posts up to do what your asking. ;)

I can't get JVH3 to run on my TP2. I'm on Verizon and running MightyRom's last Rhodium Update with Sense 2.5 (WinMo 6.5). It installs but cannot create the "table". I have uninstalled Conflippers NA Weather v5 and now I can't even load additional cities from the original Sense 2.5. If I add a city (other than the "My Location" setting, the weather will not update. Anybody else have this problem?

Did you soft reset after you uninstalled Conflipper's V5? Do that then restart Sense and then soft reset again. Then try and see if your Weather works normally. If so, then disable Sense again and install the new Editor and add new cities.

After I finally got it to uninstall, I did soft reset. Then disabled Sense, installed the editor and got the error message about the table and the program stops.

Well, I just wound up having to hard reset my TP2 after playing with the Overclocking program and now I have My Location reactivated and it's updating at this time. I'll know tomorrow if it's still working or not. I think I had been using the Conflipper program for the weather since it allowed me to input alot more actual cities that I was interested in instead of cities that were many miles away.

Like I said, I would use this proceedure:
1. Disable Sense and soft reset.
2. Then uninstall Conflipper V5.
3. Then soft reset.
4. Then restart TF3d/Sense and see if weather will work normally.
5. Then disable Sense.
6. Then soft reset again.(probably not necessary but just to be safe)
7. Install the editor and configure.

I hope that works. :dontknow:
