Dead phone/ wrong password
 

We were at the MIL over the weekend and where she lives there is no Sprint service, so I put both my phones to roam.
Phone 1 is a TP1, no problems.
Phone 2 is a TP2 and it didn't want to start up, so I did a few soft resets and got to the passwork screen. It would tell me it was the wrong password and now will not even tell me that. It does nothing when I hit the unlock (it does light up, so it knows it was touched).
It is also showing no signal here at home ( we have good signal here)
When I tried to do a hard reset (power, vol. down & reset) it goes to boot loader and that is it.

I know I got it about a year ago so I just looked and it was a year on 10-01-10, so it would be out of the 1 year factory warranty.

It was stock 6.5 ROM with different cabs. I don't even know how many, but no changes in the last few months.

Any ideas? I know I will have to hard reset, but how?

Have you tried flashing the Sprint 6.5 rom from http://www.htc.com/us/support/touch-...int/downloads/

Otherwise, task29 will wipe your phone totally clean. Put it in bootloader, let it establish a connection to your PC and then run task29. It will be a very quick flash, after which you need to flash a new rom (you need to be unlocked for all of them except the 2 shipped Sprint roms)

was your device turned off when u tried to hard reset?? if it wasnt, thats why you got bootloader screen instead.

EDIT.. uhh wait, you didnt do a hard reset OP, you did do bootloader.. hard Reset= talk/send, end, and power button while device is off...

Thanks, I did a real hard reset and it reset fine, now I just have to load all the cabs back on.
I would like to know what caused it to go nuts, so I don't do it again.

It's probably something you installed or a combination of several things. Otherwise it was another problem with that stock 6.5 rom.

WOW...! I just encountered the exact same problem today...

I need help... tell me please, exactly how to do a hard reset...

I cannot establish a connectioin with my PC because my TP2 is locked...

honestly, I've tried dozens of times to hard reset... but the phone just boots rite to the locked screen again

... nevermind ...

i got to bootloader screen... then plugged the phone into USB ... picked my ROM and it reloaded the OS....

AWESOME....!

Well did it again. It has been fine the last few months. The only thing that I did at the MILs was put it on roam & the battery ended up dead.

Now I get the wrong password again.

u can always just reflash the stock 6.5 rom or flash a more superior rom such as the stock 6.1 rom or a 6.5 build 21916 rom like vins neodium.
