Streaming Radio App (like Tune In on Android)

Is there an app like Tune In Radio on Android?
TuneIn Radio - Android app on AppBrain

I am trying to connect my old Touch Pro 2 up to some computer speakers and just use it as an internet radio at my desk. Does anyone know a good WM app for that?

Pandora or Slacker Radio either works great on my TP2!

Pandora is cool- use it on my Evo all the time. But it doesn't let you select from a list of local stations and just listen to a regular station. I'm trying to listen to actual radio stations in my area- some AM and some FM. They're all on the Tune In on my Evo, and I have been using that as my "radio" at work for this purpose. But I figured I might as well make some use out of my old Touch Pro 2 that has been collecting dust.

It sucks that Tune In doesn't have a WinMo app, that would be perfect.

Why not get the Android port on your TP2, then you can use Tune In

I was just reading about that Android port. On the first post it says a bunch of stuff doesn't work (speaker, headphones, etc).

Do you know if everything works? Specifically, I would need WiFi, the headphones, and the Android Market.

Hmm I forgot you wanted to be able to use headphones...

I want to say there is a way to enable the headphone jack, but I'm unsure. I think somewhere I read that if you enable the headphone jack that the external audio doesn't work, but I don't remember for sure. Maybe someone else can confrim for you.

But wifi, market, and the external speaker do work though.

edit:

Yeah just looked and it says it's not functional yet. I guess that rules this idea out lol

slacker radio is by far better than any local radio station.

Not for my purposes. I use Pandora and last.fm in the car. But when I'm at work I like to listen to the local sports talk radio. Slacker doesn't have that (neither does Pandora or last.fm).

The built in radio on the phone doesn't have AM, which is what the local sports talk radio is on, so I don't use it.

I would go with the suggestion of the other poster. Use your web browser and go to US Radio Stations - The Stream Center USA - Searchable directory of America's streaming local radio stations. and choose your radio station there. It will open up in TCPMP or you can use Kinoma Free Play.

Kinoma also has some radio stations for free.

sounds like the post above is ur best option

Re: Streaming Radio App (like Tune In on Android)

Also try kinoma freepaly... It's free and it streams lots of local stations. Some that broadcast in AAC3 will not stream on the free version. You have to buy the program for 30 bones.

I like this Open Web Radio.
OPEN web Radio v1.41 freeware for Windows Mobile Phone.

There is also a thread by the author on xda site. It talks about how to add radio stations and you can get help if you run into any bugs. You will have to google the xda thread.

Radiotime.com/mobile

That might be more akin to what you are looking for... depends on your area's availability...

Anyone else having trouble with Pandora? I am using a file cab I got off of here that was supposed to be better than the one given out by Pandora for the TP2, which they say is unsupported. ideas?
