I updated my version of energy ROM. when the tp2 booted back up I ran verizon carrier provisioning, when it restarted again I programmed the phone.

no data, no calling, no texting. nothing, I tried flashing back to stock, flashing to a different version of energy. nothing is working anyone have any advice?

If you flashed the shipped rom and ran Update Profile I don't understand why your device wouldn't function normally.

going back to the shipped rom should have cleared up all issue's. thats weird!

did you check to see that your SID and all that is still programmed into the phone?

Re: data error code 13?

If I remember right one of these two dial codes will reset programming so the update profile will work.
the first one is most logical, and may not reset the whole phone (although I think it does)
##DATA (3282)
and this one has fixed many weird things for me over the years
##786 (reverse logistics)

once your into these (msl required to edit) there is a menu option to reset.

Task29 itself won't fix the problem. If you task29 you still have to flash a rom which in this case should probably be the shipped rom. Just so you know, flashing the shipped rom does a Task28 which clears out more than Task29. I guess if you wanna do both go ahead but it's probably unnecessary.

You've been borked.. Also you dont by chance have a google number do you> google screwed my stuff up few weeks back with their forwarding.

data code 13 means your services are reading as not activated.. call being stupid and ask if they can take that feature off, then put it back on after about 30 seconds. Then pull battery out for about 15 seconds, boot back up and re-program the phone, you will need to do option 2 after option 1. (according to a tech thats also for data) Check you phone info with radio on and make sure thata ll the stuff thats in there is in there. if not you'll have to go to verizon and have it done manually.

Im also thinking verizon has changed something in their systems.

I also just went thru somthing very ugly and dont advise unlocking sim cards. Theives have their way with you and the info that gets taken and placed on their phones is alot like the trouble your having. too many phones with same id.

The reason i said he needs to have them take the data package off systems and put it back on is that still had to be done after I got the replcement.. then it worked.

I went into the vzw store on my school break and after an hour and a half my phone was working with everything except data. They put a trouble ticked on my account and I was supposed to get a call at 5:45 but I never got it if I don't get one by tomorrow afternoon I'll call them.

Also I did task29 and then re flashes the stock rom. Running stock rom and radio right now and now after every text message I send it tells me the phone doesn't know which country I'm in and when I click the drop down box on country it gives me tons of unites states options. Really at a loss here.

I wonder if your device has been cloned.

Cloned probably a good word, I called it hijacked.. VZW probably pissed as hell. They can see that in their systems. I spent 2 hours on phone with them 3 months ago and they traced in system and until last thurs. everything was good. Then WAM.... Info was ripped from my phone.. It's useless to whom ever did it now. But thats beside the point. Im paying the dam bill not the ijiot that did that shyt. vzw tried manual and system programming. by 330 am, poof again.

I know how the poor guys feels... On a good note.. I think my replacement phone actually has a better radio reception then my brand new one i had.. weird....

Reason i told the guy to have them take the data plan off systems and put it back on is that's what they had to do even after i got my replacement phone to get data working again.

Good advice.
Dang, I pray I never have these issues. :(

Re: data error code 13?

The exact same thing happened to me. I tried 2 different energyroms and I tried flashing back to the stock rom. I also tried the task29.exe file. I also tried that *228 option several times. My data would not connect (no internet or mms) and I couldn't make any phone calls or send txt messages. I had verizon techs look at it for about 2 hours and they wanted to send me another phone because they couldn't figure it out either.

I was able to fix my calls and txt messages. When I pressed the send key to get to my dialpad, went to menu, and went to My Phone Number, it has some crazy number (000-000-7854). I went into the ESPT settings and everytime I saw that number in any of the settings, I changed it to my number.

One thing I noticed (which might be the problem) is that in the ESPT settings (under A-Key), there is no authentication key there. I wonder if there is supposed to be something that makes my phone authenticate over the network. ((shrug)).:help:

since your getting a new phone it's null, but for the others out there, the number you replaced with your phone # may have needed a different number in some of those spots. if you reset back to default (above ## codes) then program the phone following the instructions from your carrier (usually ##yourMSL# )
after that your data should be able to provision succesfully.

Re: data error code 13?

Didn't work.

The ##DATA only told me my data usage total along with the number of txt and picture messages. ##786 gave me a message saying the number was incorrect or no longer in service. For kicks, I deactivated my phone (by activating another) and reactivated my phone and reprogrammed it. Still no data.

I went through a few forums looking at a few different ## codes and the only one that worked for my phone was ##778.

:help:

Re: data error code 13?

there is a dialer code cab floating around that will get those ## codes working again. (there are also several that dont work right, or are only partial)
but the ##data should take you to specific epst programming, not account info. i could be wrong since you have verizon, hopefully someone with them will jump in.

toxendless 10-02-2010 02:25 AM

Re: data error code 13?

to get to the specific epst programming on my phone I did ##PRL and it brought me into those settings, when I went in there it said to add PRL and that was the only one there. getting error code 13 again.

talked to a tech on the phone tier 2 for a while and she notated my account so a rep at a corporate store and they would analyze the phone to see if the problem was caused by damage. (I dropped my phone like a month or so after I got it and cracked my screen. feels bad man.) so tomorrow after work I'll probably go in there and have them take a look. re-locking my SPL for warranty reasons and hopefully all will go well.

wish me luck!

*edit*

now I can't even get the hard spl relocker to work. I've restarted my computer and hard reset my device again. :/

maybe I can just play dumb like I never unlocked it and hope for the best.

or should I just wait until I can convince my device to run the spl relocker?

In my opinion, as long as you have the shipped rom on there you should be fine.

toxendless 10-02-2010 08:15 PM

Re: data error code 13?

yeah, I eventually got the RUU for relocking the SPL to work. getting my replacement device monday and my calling and texting is working again.

Re: data error code 13?

I found a temporary workaround to get my data and mms working. Before you do it, make sure you have everything setup in “Connections” (#777, yourphonenumber@vzw3g.com, and “vzw” for the password).
1.) ##778 Ã* Edit Ã* 000000
2.) Tap “view info” on the bottom left and go to “modem settings”
3.) Change the “preferred mode” value to CDMA Only.
4.) Tap okay in the top right to update settings and reboot the phone.
*It unfortunately turns off the high speed EVDO, but I’ve watched youtube videos on the phone with no issues with buffering so speed might not be an issue unless you use the phone to tether.
