SOD and email push ?
 

I've gotten a few SOD's (sleep of death - refuses to wake up - must be soft reset) on my new-to-me tp2 (6.5 stock, not using Sense2.5(EDIT) )

Last time I noticed that the little alert light was flashing (because there was an email in there). So after soft reseting it, I set ActiveSync to not sync emails (Outlook (gmail) ). Haven't had the problem since. Just a thought...

unless you flashed a Custom Rom w/o sense in it.. whether you use it or not Sense is still in your OS..

I use push email 7 days a week and do not have SODs...

I tried push mail too before, didn't have any problem. That said, I didn't have too many mails that's unread to push to the phone. So, it might just be how many mails did the phone get at one time for you. And I agree, unless you delete the sense from ROM, it's on your phone, just you didn't run it at the time.

In detail:
In Settings / (menu all settings) / Today / Items

I uncheck HTC Sense.
Check Date.
Check Easy Today Launcher.
Check Device Lock
