Google voice is not a viop service, you will not save any mins by using it.

I make calls almost every day using my Google Voice number and it doesn't go against my anytime minutes.

You have to have your Google voice number set as a number that you don't get charged minutes for. So you either need Pick 5($5/month,) Pick 3( used to be free if you can still get it) Or Sprint to Home( I had this added FREE to my SERO 500 plan within the last month.)

This also does NOT work for outgoing calls with the Official Google Voice app, as it calls a number other than your GV number to initiate the call. I use Gvoice Callback from the market , which connects to GV using data and it will then call your phone(using your GV #, hence Free Minutes) and then connect you to the number you want to call.

Anytime someone calls your Google Voice # it will forward to your cellphone and be seen as your Free number that you do not get charged minutes to connect to.

If you need help setting any of this up let me know!

I knew the pick 3/5 would be mentioned, if he's not on a legacy plan it will be difficult to get that set up
