ROM choice please

Im giving a friend my old TP2 and was running XYC CleanRom from 3/2/10. Anything similar now? Its a snappy Rom with no BS.

What other changes have there been in Roms since then? After June which is when I upgraded was the last time I was up to date.

Thanks

What are you looking for in a ROM? There have been a lot of updates since march, but for starters you should figure out whether you want a sense 2.1/2.5/Titanium ROM, winmo 6.1/6.5/6.5.x etc....Energy's ROMs would be a good place to start and see some of the most recent updates for ROMs

you can find it here

What I have on there is 2.5 but still snappy. She is coming from a Treo 650 that still has wimo 5 standard. I dont want to overwhelm her with NRG but do want her to have the speed and reliability of her old phone with modern takes on what she had.

It's already quick but I was hoping that maybe in my 3 mos away things are even faster without overclocking.

Wirelessly posted (htc Pocket PC: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 8.12; MSIEMobile6.0) Sprint T7380)

IMO 2.5 will probably frustrate her. I say go with a 6.1 rom but I'm probably in the minority.

Hard call, I have tried to convert friends to custom roms with much frustration. IMO, I agree, flashing to a stock 6.1 or 6.5 is the safest choice unless they understand the benefits, quirks, and occasional maintenance involved (Flashoholics are a rare breed). Fortunately, they will have you for help. I agree w/the previous poster that NRGZ has a great rom out that is current and fast and has also revived quick menu.

Side note, there are a bunch of great chefs keeping the flame alive in the collaboration thread. Check them out. All have good stuff going on. Loving the "throwback" to quick menu myself.

Exactly, DECISIONS, wait on WM7, Dual core processors, ect. ect. Out of my contract but still can't decide. Love the camera apps on android but the camera doesn't work on dual boot yet. Love the wife's EVO, but guess I still love playing with my phone more than using it! LOL. Gotta have a hobby I guess.
