HELP!!! TP2 Sprint GSM signal is full But can't make call and SMS
 

a few week ago i buy Htc TP2 Sprint is SIM unlocked to use any GSM sim card provider and i live in indonesia and its normal .... but one week ago my phone is got Full Bar Of signal GSM with GPRS/EDGE....but the device can't make a call and send text message, and so can't received a call and text message to....
What happend to my device........????????
But if signal GSM Got 3G/HSDPA my device can make a call and send text message and so can received call and received text message to...
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME....
what should i do.......

i've try to upgrade with custom rom with Hardspl before and still same think like before.....so i try to stock rom its still same....

I tired...is about 2 week find the answer in the other forum and google but nothing.........

Hello

You should check the phone settings.
The Sprint TP2 can use CDMA and GSM. If you just want to use GSM in Indonesia set the phones radio to GSM only.

Depending on the ROM you use it can be different to find the phone settings.
But if you are in under "Networks" change from "Global" to "GSM only".

This ensures you phone is not trying to connect to CDMA.

i have to do that but my phone allways searching network and got no service......and than i try to manual selected network i found my network name but can't registered to the network preperred....but if i choise the band selected to UMTS band (2100) i got 3G signal and the phone can make a call and sms....
its seem my phone only work on UMTS (2100)
and not work if i set to GSM(900+1800) and GSM(1900+850)
how can i make the GSM and UMTS work both of them???not only if I got UMTS signal......

Hmmm... this is strange. Voice should work fine without a 3G signal. What ROM are you on, and where are you selecting the actual band? I have used multiple SIM's and never had an issue with voice/SMS and GPRS/Edge. It always works fine. Also, I've never had to manually change my phone to GSM to get it to work on any GSM network. Global mode always works fine...

yeah firts time i buy is work fine but and then come this problem...
I,m using stock rom from the htc web......but i try to use custom rom fro bhars crusader 7 with hardspl before but it not fix a problem....
i'm very confused...in indonesia there is no service center of sprint htc.....
maybe anyone know its can fix with edit the registry or something else like tweaking....

Sounds to me like an issue with the gsm carrier you are using. Is there a way to contact them and see if they need to change/fix something on thier end?

no the gsm carrier its fine....i try to change to anther gsm carrier its same must be on 3G/HSDA to make a call and send text message...

Well, other than flashing/using the shipped rom and setting your device to use gsm only I don't know what else you can do. I guess you could try flashing a different radio.

ok..this step i have trying...
- flashed the shiped rom.....
-flashed the custom rom with hardspl...
-flashed other radio rom stock...
those all can't fix the problem.....

maybe the last i must try to flash radio rom unlock from olipro...but its still buy not free....if i'm olipro country i will buy those software and try it....but i'm leaving in indonesia and its hard to do that...and not have paypal...maybe i'm not lucky with my phone...:silent:

I wouldn't think you would need to sim unlock since SprintTP2 is sim unlocked for non-USA networks but I would say it's worth a try. Then flash one of the radios here:

yes......but i still confused to make payment to buy tha unlocker radio.....like RhodiumWunlocker.exe...

or maybe the component in the main board the name is called IC-PA on indonesia...this ic maybe down...but where i can buy this component...

there's always some issue with GSM. me and my ex always have problems texting each other. thewhole world should just go CDMA

yes other people just say that some issue with the GSM module....
but maybe someone can edit some registry to change the string in the radio rom....
like the olipro unlocker he can make string in the radio rom to add frequency for US GSM....

so to anyone who can make the radio rom setting to add new setting frequency to the default setting....
i hove someone can help me with this thing's.....

It's too late for that. A majority of the world is GSM. And while both have their issues, GSM is far more flexible...

maybe in terms of coverage. here in the US the GSM providers suck.so many horror stories about bad service vs only one bad CDMA provider. maybe they're better in the rest of the world since they don't coexist with CDMA.

I'have try to re-hot the ic-PA on main board but the signal is still searching...but if I select band manualy to UMTS(2100) i got the 3G signal and the phone work fine....
and if I setting to GSM only without UMTS the phone got full G signal but can't make a call or send text message.....anyone ho know to setting the frequency in GSM to set to default....I try to flash many time but still not fix the problem....

Ok, try this.
Remove your sim card.
Then flash this shipped rom:

ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Touch%20Pro%20...60652_Ship.exe

It has the radio in it and it is unlocked for non-US networks.
Then after flashing the rom and it has reset replace your sim card. Then try and see if it works.

If this has worked before then what rom were you using then?
That rom I linked you to was the 6.1 version so thereis a newer 6.5 version but I don't see why that would make any difference with your issue. You could try it. Have you used the sim unlocker before on your device or has the previous owner used the sim unlocker on that device? I'm curious about this but honestly I don't think sim unlocking would do you any good because the Sprint TP2 comes sim unlocked for non-US networks from the factory. You could try flashing one of the Worldphone Unlocked radios but those are unlocked for US networks so again I don't know if that would make any difference. Your issue really sounds like an issue with your network to me.

maybe its the sim card they are using. the sprint tp2 should work out the box over there, maybe need to hard reset and start over. what up horndoc btw.

first time Im using the stock rom 6.5 and its work fine.....but after one week my phone got problem like that.......about sim unlocker, when I check to setting its say your sim is unlock....
maybe some one have the qcn file for QPST...or BackUp File I need this file to restore in my phone...maybe my phone will work with this...

just to be clear, if you or the person you got the phone from did NOT purchase the sim unlocker, you are not sim unlocked. if your radio has a "wf" or "wv" behind the number, you are NOT sim unlocked, it must say "wu" (world unlock) behind the number. but, sim unlocking only works for using gsm while in north america, these radios probably won't work oversea but you can try it anyways. if the phone worked fine before, a hard reset is required to get it working again. good luck soldier.

I hve many time to hard reset but not fix the problem....and try many time to change rom and still the GSM only work in UMTS 2100...not work or no service in other frequency like GSM with GPRS/EDGE

yes i'm sure...i try to change to another sim card with another provider it same,,,maybe the gsm frequency is broken...but the umts with frequency 2100 is good...how to fix the gsm frequency?
