USB no longer working... Does the old flash dance still work?
 

When I plug it in to a computer it charges, but that is it. I have tried 3 different cables and 4 computers.

Right before this happened I started having weirdness with the phone thinking headphones were plugged into it.

I will be able to purchase a new phone Oct 1(supposedly, sero), so I just want to keep this one doing the needful until then.

I flashed back to stock to rule out any weirdness caused by roms, didnt help. I have realized I really do not like stock though and want to go back to Energy.

Will doing the old flash dance(no task29) and flashing from SD card cause problems?

shouldn't cause any problems, or at least any worse than what ur dealing with, lol. why not take it back to Sprint store seeing stock is on it now, they may be able to fix it or at least get u a working one, since they came out just about 1 year ago it may still be under warranty.

Try backing up and then a hard reset before another ROM, that should tell you if it's a hardware issue or not. If it is a hardware problem, take it to Sprint. I had an issue with the end key, and they replaced it with a brand new TP2 for free. My warranty runs out the middle of next month.

I am pretty sure it is hardware, it does not detect usb from the bootloader either.

I actually flashed it back to stock prior to realizing the usb problem.

My little water sticker is red, so I must have got it wet at some point in the last year. Which means sprint will give me a big FU.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just take my medicine and wait for the opportunity to upgrade. Anything new coming out? Was thinking evo.

I you like having a physical keyboard give the Epic a look.

If I were you I would just deal with not having USB support until you can upgrade since it's only a couple of weeks.

flash dancing is a MYTH.. think about it, weve been flashing for years... and "flash dance is a term from the last year or so only.. same with task29-tht ones only several months old..

we managed fine before all that, and well manage fine without it all... ive never flashed danced 1 time, nor ever run Task 29, and ive never had one issue..

Flash dance and task 29 is just for the superstious!

sounds like hardware failure. i had the same problem and had to get my TP2 replaced. good luck.
