verizon htc touch pro2 global
I bought a new unlocked htc touch pro2 global from someone. I have at&t service. When I install my sim card to set up phone it calls a number at verizon & they ask for phone number to activate. I give them my at&t number but they say it is invalid. What steps do I need to follow? Thanks for any help because I'll need it. Older nubie.

Re: verizon htc touch pro2 global
Start Menu > Settings > Personal > Phone > Network tab
Set the mode of operation to GSM/UMTS only and it should start using your AT&T SIM card to look for service. |
Re: verizon htc touch pro2 global
So I have to unlock my sim card from at&t? Will at& t do that? It is a new phone that has never been registered with Verizon. I bought it and had someone unlock it. Thanks very much for the info. I'll look at the stickie & see if I can do it. If not I may have to plede for more guidance.

Re: verizon htc touch pro2 global
The phone comes SIM locked from VZW, meaning it will only accept VZW branded SIM cards. When it's SIM unlocked, it will accept any SIM card. If the phone is already unlocked, you just have to switch it from Global mode to GSM only as it will prioritize CDMA over GSM in global mode. If you put your AT&T SIM card in the phone, switch it to GSM only mode, it should work for phone calls. You'd have to setup data and MMS stuff separately though to get them to work. If it doesn't work with your SIM in and in GSM only mode, then it isn't SIM unlocked yet and you'll have to unlock it before it will work.
