Major problems and supposed water damage?

So, today after using my phone thsi morning, the battery went dead. I later went to plug it in and turn it on and the screen wouldn't turn on. I could make calls, but no screen. Now, when I go to turn it on it just cycles/buzzes no power on. I took it to sprint store 3rd party retailer and they spent an hour and a half taking it apart. Came back and told me there was nothing they could do, I would have to make an insurance claim because there was "water damage." The indicators are still intact, it's never been in the water...is there any way to fight this? There is no way there is any water damage that was fault of mine...and with those indicators still intact I don't know how they can claim water damage...any suggestions?

try calling sprint customer care. tell them your problem and that you already went to the repair center and that they told you they couldn't find the problem causing it. they'll send you a replacement through your warranty.

Re: Major problems and supposed water damage?

There are at least 2-3 water indicators on the phone. You may be able to get more help by going to an actual Sprint store rather than a 3rd party retailer if most of the water indicators haven't been triggered. I find it hard to believe a device had water damage that would only affect the inner-most indicator and not trigger one of the water indicators that are visible with the back cover off as well. A phone call to support may work as well.
