PPCGeeks - SXRadio2 issue

So I just recently got satellite radio in my car and installed SXRadio2 on my TP2 and everything works fine, but I have one issue. When playing SXRadio2 on my phone I have to lock the screen and leave the screen on. The moment I hit the button on top of my phone to turn the screen off the music stops playing. Is there anyway around this? I feel I could get longer battery life with the screen off cause when it's in my pocket I'm sure its getting pressed and keeping it fully illuminated most the time.
