"ERROR [260]: CONNECTION" when flashing Task29 & new ROMs now. Fix?
 

I unlocked my Touch Pro 2 a while ago and have tried multiple ROMs.

I have NEVER been happy with the raw speed of the Touch Pro 2 when simply using it as a phone/text device.
So, I got frustrated and just flashed back to the stock ROM hoping it would be faster than I remembered.
It wasn't.

So, now when I try I go into Bootloader and try to flash Task29 or a new ROM, I get an error that reads: "Error 260 Connection".


I've even tried to sync in Activesync and run Task29/ROMs from while the phone is synced and I am still getting this error message.

Can anyone please offer me a fix?

try these things.
reboot computer
or
go to your connection settings and open USB to PC settings and uncheck or check the box under ACTIVESYNC
or
uninstall activesync, reboot. install activesync.

Reinstalling Activesync has always fixed this error for me on Windows XP. I didn't even have to reboot my laptop. It hasn't happened yet on Windows 7.

When ever I have experienced this, I Make sure that I am in bootloader mode USB and open WMDC and that seems to cure the problem for me 100% of the time.

I'm running Windows XP and I don't think I have WMDC. :(

microsoft activesync is for windows xp
windows mobile device center is for vista/7
