Phone stolen anyway to report it?
Hi all, sorry to rant but my precious sprint tp2 got stolen by some low life good for nothing mayate. All that hard work and time spent on it gone in a couple of seconds. Yea I know I should of been more careful which is a lesson learned yet againg for me](*,), NEVER TRUST ANYONE, I MEAN ANYONE!!!!!:protest::protest::protest::protest:
My question, Is there any way to report the ESN or something so that **** or anyone else wont be able to utilize it except for what it is? I wasnt on overpriced sprint network, It was flashed to metropcs(please don wana hear anything bout that). :angry7::angry7: MOD EDIT: F-Bomb Removed :D |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
call your service provider and tell them and they will mark the esn as stolen

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.7 (WindowsMobile; PPC; Opera Mobi/35267; U; en; Presto/2.1.1))
metro pcs wont blacklist the esn. if it was already flashed from another network to metropcs, no one will do anything about it. the only way to have a cdma phone listed as stolen is through the original carrier. |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
lol Sprint network isn't overpriced for $69.99 you can get unlimited calls to any cellphone, unlimited data, messaging and gps that's only $10 more a month than the metro smartphone plan: anyway how did it get stolen?
|
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
gota love the unlimited data, texts, calls for 70 a month!!!
|
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
not bad mouthing sprint or anything, just the fact its only to cell phones, plus i regularly make calls international. metro is unlimited all that and can txt to international cell phones as well. then thers the contract thingy:disgust:
i have been really thinking about switching tho. so what you all sayin is that puzzy got a free phone and will be able to use it:disgust:](*,):protest: |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
if thats how metro works then ya. but thats kinda shady on their part not being able to blacklist the esn
|
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
since youve been a PPCGEEK member for a while did/do you have any of the smart phone tracker programs installed. (like remote tracker or smart phone tracker)
|
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
ive thought about it but never got one. there are a few good free ones out there though
|
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
ive got both installed on my tp2, that is one of the very first things i did is install these.
they both work great, only had to use it once. when it was taken out of my truck. and its also good for your kids when they go outside to play. you know where they are without bothering them. microsofts version isnt bad either. it was the first app on my Motorola X "Droid tracker" |

I guess best you can do is file a report with he police...and see if maybe they can get the ESN blacklisted. |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
call your service provider and tell them maybe they can help??
|
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
First of all cancel the service on it, then it's useless to him. Sounds like you know him too. Next phone get LookOut, it's pretty win.

i had the ENRGy Cookie ROM, dont know if there was such a thing preinstalled except for the 911 GPS thingy. besides doesnt the service had to be activated for them trackers to work, i long go suspended it. |

2 Attachment(s)
you aint gotta call yourself a Idiot, i wasnt calling or insinuating anything either.
there isnt really anything to activate on either of those apps, or the microsoftmyphone version tracker. you just install one/both and adjust your setting. it only takes a few minutes and it might save you from losing or buying another phone. if you get another tp2 or something like it, id probably take a few minutes and set one up. personally smart phone tracker is nicer and real easy to set up Hey we still need details on how this happened ;) |

I guess you should be more careful and consider this a life lesson. be more careful next time buddy. Sorry about your loss. (Try to call Metro and tell them what happened, however I doubt they will do anything, as it is a flashed phone, and not one of their "top quality" phones...seriously, their selection SUCKS) |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
I love how this thread is 3 pages and despite several requests regarding the details of how the phone got "stolen", the op just ignores them. lol

This is my guess and the most likely scenario based on what I gathered >.> |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
Metro can Flash any device... even if it has a stolen or blacklist on the ESN from its original carrier.. Houdini will rip right through it.. its a shady system..Metro techs will openly admit the Metro can flash a stolen or bad ESN device..
youd think someone would put a stop to them being able to do that... by law, they may be activating stolen property, thus making them an accomplis to the crime in all actuality.... **and this is why you install anti-theft, gps trackers in your device... if youd of had Phone Creeper on your device, youd be able to read any texts the theif has recieved, sent, or deleted... got gps coordinates of their location via text.. you could even have the stolen device call you with the speaker phone on without them knowing so you can hear everything they are saying... Im sorry your phone was stolen, but You really dropped the ball by not having your $600 phone properly locked down** |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
lesson learned indeed.
MS phone... Smart Phone Tracker... Worth the time and effort. p. |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
another scenario is maybe he was using the phone in public then someone comes to ask to use the phone for a quick phone call then runs away with it. its a shame that u can no longer tell the difference between someone who actually needs to make a phone call from the people who want to steal.

Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
Or... Someone just walked up to him and took it right out of his hand.

rather irrelavent isnt it?? if he'd of had protection software on it, odds are he wouldve had his phone back with-in an hour... hard to run for gps coordinates, and all the possible locating techniques in some of these apps.. especially phone creeper... |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
Man, I dunno what universe some of you guys live in where a person could just run off with your phone without you giving chase and administering a beat-down, but I don't want to live there. Something like that would never happen to me or anyone I know.

Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
Ok, sorry to not post earlier, job has me beaten. Anyways, well the way it happened was like this, I was sitting down eating peacefully my lunch at a local fast food. There was a guy with his kid to my right a couple of tables,a guy across from me a couple of tables and a lady waiting for their meal. When I seat down to eat I have the dumbass habit of taking out my keys, my phone and anything bothersome out of my pockets and placing them on the table(hey i like to be comfortable alright). I start eating my meal while reading the local paper, get half way through, get up to refill, sit back down, continue eating and read paper. Finish eating, about 10 mins pass since sat back down, put paper away and start looking for phone, gone. Now, the guy with the kid were still there, the lady waiting for her meal was gone, saw her leave tho before i got up to refill. Only person different, the guy accross from me. Panicked, asked the guy with the kid about it, said he didnt see nothing, asked the employees, didnt see nothing. Went outside to try and spot the guy but no luck, now remember about 10 mins had passed sinced i sat back down from getting up to refill. Bastard was long gone by then. Tried calling it with my work phone but no answer. I guuess I fall under the statistic of "played".
I dont know people, If your goin to rob from someone, rob a wealthy fat crooked cat, not an average barely middle class regular guy. Yes if I would of caught him, destination:bathroom, tied his ass up, face inside toilet, blowtorched his mouth open whilst a buffet of all you can eat mix of piss/mysh.it purd in nice n slow.:( |
Re: Phone stolen anyway to report it?
