Cannot Connect #777 - ???
 

For some strange reason, my phone has started giving me the "Cannot connect to network .. #777.." error throughout the day. Only one problem. I'm not using the data line. Google/Bing is disabled. I am not surfing the web. There is no logical reason for the phone to attempt to go online.

Has anyone else had mystery connection attempts?

mine does that sometimes..i just hit cancel and things go on. I think its b/c in that point of time, the data 'call' cannot connect due to some interferance or bad coverage etc.. (mine does it when im in the office which has bad reception)

Well dont know if you have been flashing custom ROMs but most times if you are on Sprint and you flash a custom ROM it does something to the data settings which sometimes causes this. The way to fix this issue if this is the case is to task 29. Flash the stock Sprint ROM. Clear storage. Update PRL and Profile. Then flash the custom ROM of your choice. After flashing clear storage. Update PRL and Profile. That should fix the no data failure happening throughout the day.

I hit cancel, but the problem is the connection attempts drain the battery. I want to know why the device is trying to connect so I prevent a dead phone in the middle of the day.

I get them randomly, there's a setting under comm devices/if you click on the modem tab there's an existing connection called Sprint #777, I thought about disableing it but havent.

UNder data connections/manage connections. click on the modem tab and there's the 777
