Yet another reason to hate this phone.
 

So i plugged the phone in to charge last night. shortly after it randomly restarted itself as it seems to do often. i checked a text msg, then went to bed.

this morning on the ride to work i go to put my password in and it says its invalid. which is false. i know that its right. is there anyway i can get into my phone without a hard reset, since i have done about 5 already to this the past few months. I am getting tired of having issues just using it for things its meant to be used for.

I've run into this issue a few times, and all I could not do anything else but hard reset. Fortunately, I had most of my data on the storage card, and other stuff synced via MyPhone and Outlook syncing.

Well U can alway go android!!!... Its funny last time I used windows mobile.. was around year ago.. been android since... but i came back.. for one reason.. audio and video kinda lacks in android...and call me stupid. but i miss windows mobile.. so gave my wife my hero. and re-activated my tp2.. and am a happy camper again.. cept I gave up my sero for the hero!!!lol wish i still had it..

Sounds like hardware to me. I have the same phone on Sprint and have never been locked out or reset involuntarily....

Are you running the stock ROM? If not, would go back to a stock ROM and try it again. If it resets on the stock ROM, I'd say you need a replacement.

PS I do not even have it resetting after overclocking...

all i have done is put it to 6.5. i dont even abuse it like others. this is getting ridiculous.

Try seeing if you can make the jump back to 6.1
I seem to have heard about people having more issues on 6.5 than 6.1

plug it in to cpu, usb sync should unlock it

well it wont reset. keep pushing the button but just restarts with lock screen
