Change ROM back to stock before going to sprint store?

The obvious answer is yes. But, I have to take my phone in for repair as I have the total protection plan insurance. One of the problem is that the battery is completely done. I can't charge it, so I can't turn the phone on.

So, is it safe/legal for me take my tp2 with Mighty Rom on it to the Sprint repair center?

well depending on if you say anything about it or that the tech isnt smart enough to check the rom version then yes but i would flash back to stock for sure, if they say anything about it being unlocked id just play dumb. unlocking and or flashing voids warrentys

I took mine in a month or so ago and I did flash it back to stock but did not relock it. They just gave me a new one. Did not catch any grief from the tech but I imagine it varies store to store.

Interestingly enough, last month the government clarified the DMCA to state that it is within your legal rights to unlock your phone, or even to modify the OS for improved interoperability. Obviously this doesnt include performing very illegal acts, but it did mean that a lot of carriers got upset since their legal threats were nullified.

So go ahead and take in your phone all fancied up with mightROM, and when the sprint reps get a stick up their derrier, you can tell em to shove it further since they have no legal standing against your actions. Enjoy your newly clarified freedoms. Who knows, maybe the reps need a lesson one current politics relating to their jobs.

Yes this made it perfectly illegal to unlock your phone or modify the OS. This new ruling does not affect contracts, user agreements, and warranties. So HTC or any other manufacture can't take legal action against people for hacking their phones, but it is within the manufactures power to deny service for breaking your warranty, or user agreement and so forth.

I would flash it back to stock, i've been denied service by a sprint rep before just because their was some dust inside the battery door of my phone...and this is while paying the 7 bucks a month for their service and insurance.

It really depends on what sprint store you go to and the person you get. I have a prefered sprint store i go to thats farther away from my house but the people their are alot more helpfull and nice. Go to your nearest sprint store and see if they help you out. If their not any good then try another one.

Update: So, some of the posts scared me lol...so I found another battery and changed it back to the stock rom. They are giving me another phone and battery, but I didn't want to risk it with a custom rom.
