Screen Malfunction help please

So my flex cable went bad, I ordered a new one to replace it. After putting the cable in the LCD still didn't power up but the keys and touch sensor still worked. I left the phone on my desk and after about 30 min the screen powered on for about a minute then turned off. I was baffled but left it alone again( it did this 3 times). The third time the screen powered up it stayed on and worked for 2 days with zero problems. After that it went off again so I took it back apart several times trying to remedy the problem. I have been able to get it to flicker here and there but that is about it. ](*,)

Im assuming there must be a short somewhere. I know this is something hard to diagnose without more information but what *could* cause this is what I am asking. Any help/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i'm surprised you got it workin at all after a soda was spilled all over it. your problem could be screen or main board. your warranty is void and your water stickers are probably flagged, so i dont know what else you can do, besides what darren suggested... so, good luck.

I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to the connection between the flex and the LCD. Sometimes if the bottom key area is touched the right way it flickers. Just don't know why it would flicker without even doing anything to it.
