3 questions getting my tp2 set up
 

Picked up my TP2 last week and have been busy getting usable. 2 1/2 years ago I did this with my "Touch" and really hated to give it up.

I just got done loading co0kies home tab cabs. Wow, what a great program. Made my Tp2 much more user friendly. Touch X task mgr, clean ram, clear temp, Jcm chteditor, and no chem 1%battery.

I have searched these threads endlessly but still can't find some definate answers.
My questions:

1.) Do I need to unlock my new Sprint TP2, win 6.5, 2.5....?(if so how).
2.) What is the better weather program and how do I get it back on my home screen? I currently have mobility flow touch weather
3.) Can/how do we get the radio to work and must I unlock my phone(see question 1)

2. the manila weather works good..another would be WeatherPanel, but alot of us stopped using that a long time ago... on your home screen? whered it go, shouldve been there stock

3. radio, like FM Radio? doesnt work on Sprint.. if you mean SIM Unlocked, like poping in a SIM and using a different network, thats here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=93867

Thanks for the replies. Can I call Sprint and ask them for a code like a few posters eluded to?
Where did my weather go? Thats like asking me "were did you leave your keys(if I knew that ....) :mrgreen: J/k I am just not familiar with the settings yet and don't know how to get the weather icon back on the home page. I by no means am a noob at this, just a little rusty as when I got my touch tricked out, I left it alone(2 years ago). I know alot of my "problems" are from the learning curve of upgrading. I find it a little difficult to follow some of the treads as they start in 2008 and have 50 plus pages to filter through to get to win 6.5 stuff.


Things still to do:
1.) find a good music player
2.) Add some games(I have a trip to vegas coming up)
3.) break in my seido battery(had one for my touch, loved it)
4.) change my wall paper, themes and icons.

You can't just call Sprint for a code, VZW will do that, but Sprint you will need the SIM unlocker which you will have to pay for, but that will only unlock your SIm card and allow you to use GSM here in the states and then use certain radios, but not the AM/FM radios. A good music player: WMP and Nitrogen are both decent, WP, themes, etc, look in the themes subforums, tons in there. Have fun!

Just so you know, you don't have to unlock it if you want to use 6.5 you can flash the Sprint 6.5 rom. Also, look in Yearn's TP2 favorite cabs thread for app suggestions. ;)

I appreciate all the input. Half the fun with my old touch was moding it to my taste. I have been to all those threads and they have some great ideas. My goal was to wait a week or two before moding it, but I already noticed some things that really bugged the hell out of me. I know I will get differing opions about which app is the best, so i like to try them for awhile and see how they suit me. I take notes.

My gripes:
1.) Battery (same with the touch). I did the usual things, like reduce backlight, turn off world settings, drop down task mgr and cdma only.
2.) the clock style.(turned off the flipping thing).
3.) lack of quick launches(fixed that with co0kies home tab)
4.) The rest I will tackle as they come up!!
5.) Always goes back to home screen when you close an app.
My next project is to check out different background, wallpaper, and icon themes. I will try the media players and weather services you all suggested.
