sprite backup transfer touchpro to touch pro 2?
 

Sprint just gave me a new touchpro II for my old touchpro (due in tomorrow).

I have Sprite backup. Can I just put my sd card with the touchpro backup into the tpII and have it reinstall all my programs on my new touchpro II?

You can but the potential for issues are there if they are different OS's. you can use it to restore your PIM data but I would not recomend it for your programs if you are coming from a different type of phone.

I wouldn't try it. You'd be backing up to two different ROM's, and possibly two different versions of WinMo. The outcome would not be good. I wouldn't even do it on the same device type with different versions of a ROM by the same chef, unless I was sure the Windows Mobile builds were the same..and even then I would be cautious of what I backed up and then restored to the device.

Ok, I guess I won't do it. It would have been much easier, though. On the other hand, a new phone to play with - yea!!

you could use it for your PIM data and should not be a problem just don't use it for your programs.

The PIM data will be fine, I used Sprite Backup when I switched from the Touch Pro to the Touch Pro 2.

I did this and it caused problems. just copy the PIM.vol over to the TP2 or even better use Microsoft MyPhone to back it up <<that will work the best
